By pulling you can defeat one group of four enemies each time which is much easier.
 
Aside of the war camps there are several istani miners which are being attacked by kournans. Don't worry, you don't need to keep them alive or something, they have nothing to do with the quest. And it's probably impossible to keep them all alive anyway.

Quest Summary:

  1. Champion's Dawn must not fall to the corsairs.
  2. Speak to Quarrymaster Bohanna when all members of your party are ready to defend Champion's Dawn!
  3. Hold off the initial assault against Champion's Dawn.

This quest is a "mini-mission". If all party members are killed, you will not respawn at a Resurrection Shrine, but instead you'll be kicked back to Champion's Dawn.
