These plants are seemingly alone, but when a party member goes to pull the creature it's almost always surrounded by Thorn Wolves. They are also "cowardly"; when trying to pull them they will run up just close enough to let fly a Barrage or two then run back to their original spot where they set their traps. This will end up pulling the impatient party out instead of the party pulling it. This in turn puts the party in the danger zone where Thorn Wolves may lay in wait if the area was not sufficiently cleared.
