Candy Cane Shard is a special item only available during the Wintersday special event.
- It is both a collectable drop and a Salvage Item. (Wintersday 2005 & 2006)
Notes:
- All Candy Cane Shards now stack correctly. (Wintersday 2006)
- There are two different types of Candy Cane Shards. They look exactly the same and the Candysmiths will treat each type equally but multiple shards of different types will not stack together. The kind that is dropped from monsters is salvageable, while the kind that is obtained by using a Winter Gift is not. (Wintersday 2005)

Weapons could be traded at one of the Candysmiths, and Shields and Focus, at Candysmith Marley. The official Guild Wars website says that it's best to keep your candy cane shards until the finale. To decide the Winner Dwayna of Grenth.

During the Wintersday (2006) Finale (every 3 hours in Lion's Arch and Kamadan) Candy cane Shards are used for betting in the game of which god (Grenth or Dwayna) will receive favor.
