Introduction
Capes, both in Tyria and Cantha are the universal symbol of guilds. Each guild has a unique and user-defined symbol and colour pattern. This symbol also adorns the Guild Menu pop-up window, as well as serving as your guilds symbol in alliance listings.
Acquiring a Cape
There are a few ways to get a cape:
- Join a pre-existing Guild
- Create your own Guild and purchase a cape from the Guild Emblemer for 2000 gold.
If you are creating your own cape there is a menu system that lets you choose the background color, the symbol and its color as well as the cape style itself.
Wearing a Cape
On your inventory pop-up there is a dropdown menu in the top left that lets you select when to wear your cape
- Never (except in PvP) - capes are always worn in PvP matches, there is no way around this
- Only in towns and cities
- Only in Combat areas
- Always
Just select which option appeals most to you
