84.175, you missed one!! :P --Karlos 14:38, 10 Sep 2005 (EST)

No I didn't. Or let's say I missed it on purpose. :) What I forgot is starting a discussion whether we should keep this category altogether or maybe make a new one "animals". We could put the one or two creatures that are not charmable in there, too. --Eightyfour-onesevenfive 18:15, 10 Sep 2005 (EST)
What if we changed the Pets category to Animals? We could use that for the pet creatures and a few others (like Bill the Rogue Bull). --Rainith 14:56, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)
Ok, I have a suggestion to make a simple category (this) into a big headache! :) How is this structure:
Bestiary
  • Animals
    • Wild Animals
      1. Black Bear
      2. Rogue Bull
    • Tamable Animals (or Pets)
      1. Wolf
      2. Bear
      3. Snow Wolf
--Karlos
Well ok, but both Black Bears are both wild and tamable (wild in Pre-searing and tamable in S. Shiverpeaks) and yes, both are called Black Bears. --Rainith 15:28, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)
Wait, the Black Bear page says they are not tamable and does not list them in the Southern Shiverpeaks. I just took out the Pets lable from them for that. --Karlos 16:07, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)
Actually all it says is that the Black Bears in Pre-searing can't be tamed. Then it goes on to say that the ones in the S.Shiverpeaks can be tamed. I have only ever seen Black bears in the game, never ones just labeled bears. However it does not mention the Shiverpeaks ones in the Locations tab, so I will make sure to add that. (When I first worked on it I was only going off of the info that I had gained in Pre-searing.) --Rainith 16:18, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)
Umm back to our original issue, how to sort these? have two articles? One for Black Bar (Pre-Searing) and another for Black Bear (Post-Searing)? Because I don't know if the one post searing has "brutal mauling" --Karlos 17:04, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)

Well, how about that? Now categories for pets/animals? I just thinking animals as a general category, all pets will attack you when you first try to tame them (they attack as soon as you start casting), so they can all be treated as creatures. --Rainith 17:14, 11 Sep 2005 (EST)

Because there are skills that specifically say they target animals, I'm going to re-categorize the pets here to Category:Animals, *IF* the discussion over at Talk:Creature ends on a note that decides to respect delineation by game mechanics as opposed to real world definitions. -PanSola 05:13, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

A Lynx isn't a pet until it's tamed, AND there are skills that target "animal" that affects Lynx, Black Widow, Wolf etc but not the ambient frog or other types of mobs that are "animals" in the common sense. Base on this consideration, I am going to rename Category:Pets to Category:Animals on Jan 10th (7 days for you guys to stop me) -PanSola 16:51, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Less than 24 hours before I go on the Animal Crusade, you've been warned. -PanSola 05:07, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
