The Chaos Planes are barren haunted planes found in the southeastern corner of The Underworld. The area is the domain of the Reaper of the Chaos Planes. It is notable for the giant chasms that exude a blue light and which cross the flat barren land.

The Chaos Planes are haunted by the masters of chaos, mesmers. Every now and then, players will come across a single Banished Dream Rider. Killing such a creature may be easy, but it will trigger a spawn of three Mindblade Spectres, respectively. Killing those will spawn six of their kind and killing the six will spawn nine! The entire process can be very long and daunting.

Larger groups of two Banished Dream Riders and a Wailing Lord can also be found. However upon death, these will not spawn Mindblade Spectres.
