Dodgeball is a special way to play PvP strictly for recreational purposes, with rules invented and self-enforced by the players. Its casual nature lends itself very well with Scrimmage battles, but can also be done as GvG. The basic idea behind the game came from the fact that lightning orb is a projectile weapon, meaning it can be dodged by strafing and avoided by obstacles. The goal revolves around dodging the Lightning Orbs thrown by the other team, and at the same time killing the other team with your own orbs. Maximum health of all players are lowered to 105 through the use of 5 Superior Runes, so that a single orb hit at 12 Air Magic (which deals 108 damage to 60AL targets after armor penetration) will kill a player.

There are many variants on the rules, banning or requiring certain other skills or equipment to keep the game dynamics fun.

Some games use the flag stand as the boundry that players cannot cross. Some games are fight-to-the-death, while others are 60-DP-and-you-are-out. Teams generally range from 4v4, which allows for a referee, to 8v8.

This is one example build for dodgeball. Again, depending on the variation, some skills may be disallowed and some other skills may be required.

For a weapon use a sword with a 20% enchanting mod and an offhand that give extra energy as well as giving 20% chance of faster recharge and 20% chance of faster casting. Nothing that provides added armor or health. And for runes, 5 superior fast casting runes are necesary to bring the player's health to 105. Again, no health or armor bonuses are allowed.

Notes[ | ]

This minigame was originally invented by Guild Wars players and later adopted for the Canthan Newyear event. See Dragon Arena.
