Drakes move faster than the normal player movement speed, so it is hard to outrun them. They are powerful Fire elementalists, especially in close quarters combat. Their Flame Burst and Lava Font are not to be underestimated.

- Drakes appear to have the ability to run several times the distance of the radar, to aid other Drakes that are in battle.
- If farming the Fiery Crest trophies for Canthan New Year, the greatest concentration of drakes are found in the middle of the volcano and on the backside of the volcano on the north side of Perdition Rock. Another group of drakes, with a boss, can be found near the docks that the White Mantle inner council leaders reside near, on the western edge of the island.
