Dryders are a class of monster, i.e. a species in the bestiary of Guild Wars.
Dryders are arachnoid creatures. (They are not spiders though, but a separate species.) Two of their 8 limbs are arms that they wave while casting spells and that they use to hold weapons and focus items.
Note: In other RPGs, Driders are traditionally a cursed transformed race of dark elves. They have the upper body of a dark elf and the lower body of a spider.
Characteristics[ | ]
Dryders are spell casters and rely heavily on hexes, especially DOT hexes. Any strategy that hinders spell casters, like energy denial or interrupts helps against them. Also, bringing hex removal skills is recommended.
On the weakness side, keep in mind that Dryders ...
- are fleshy creatures.
- are susceptible to all conditions, incl. bleeding, poison and disease.
- leave a corpse behind.
- are not undead.
- can be knocked down.
Terrorweb Dryders are referred to as demons in dialogue and drop Demonic Fangs, however they are not technically demons. Tortureweb Dryders are vulnerable to Lightbringer's Gaze, however Lightbringer's Gaze is known to affect some non-demon creatures. Nicholas the Traveler mentions that Dryder bites are poisonous.
Items dropped[ | ]
Dryders may drop the following loot (besides gold and various weapons and items):
Trophies | Dryder Fangs |
Crafting Materials | Glob of Ectoplasm |

Known Sub-Types[ | ]
- Terrorweb Dryders are also encountered in the Ruins of the Tomb of the Primeval Kings and the Realm of Torment.
