Description
The Elite Armor is a class of prestige armor art. There is an Elite armor art version for almost every armor art type, with the exclusion of the "beginner" types of Ascalon, Krytan and Tyrian in Prophecies, and Shing Jea and Seitung in Factions. Standard armor arts in the Nightfall campaign usually do not correspond to any Elite art, and vice versa. An exception are the Sunspear and Elite Sunspear armors, which are similar for all professions except Necromancer (note: neither art is available for Factions professions).
Another prestige armor art is Obsidian, which is usually distinguished from other Elite Armor due to its extremely high material costs.
All prestige armor arts are only available as level 20 armor.
The look of the Elite art is usually very similar to its standard counterpart (if there is one), but with much finer detail or more dazzling colors. Because of the better looks, this armor is highly desired as a status symbol by many players. There are, however, a few cases where the Elite art does not look like the standard art at all.
Also keep in mind that Elite armor has max stats, and is no different than any other maxed armor. The only reasons for buying Elite armor are for looks, reputation, and the ability to put it up in the Hall of Monuments.
For the individual pages on all the types of Elite Armor, see Category:Elite armor.
