GW Texture Editor is a tool that was used to create hoax objects within Guild Wars. The tool allowed the creators to apply alternate textures to actual items within their Guild Wars client, allowing them to give existing items different looks. The items could then be seen in-game (while the Texture Editor was in effect) and screen shots and videos of the item could be taken.

One example of the hoaxes created is the Terror Shield. Also, the Icy Dragon Sword is said to have been introduced as a real item as a result of an earlier hoax using this tool.

This is similar/identical to Texmod.

Note: This tool is not publicly available, and no plans exist to make it available.
