Welcome to the community portal. This hosts recent clarifications, general discussion, and perhaps most importantly, a list of outstanding tasks that could use work.
Task list
See Old Tasks for... Umm... Old Tasks.
- For an admin: Update the sentence about ads at the beginning of GuildWiki:Site support. --Rezyk 23:01, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Task:User Pages
I'm probably going to get a lot of grief for this but can registered users make a User Page? I only ask this because in the Wanted Pages article 7 of the top 10 missing links are user pages. If you don't want to put anything on there just make a blank page. That should stop your page appearing on the wanted pages list everytime you use your signature. *ducks & hides from the multitude of thrown sharp objects* --William Blackstaff 00:02, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Task: Builds
- Review Build stubs:
- Try out build stubs in PvP or PvE, vouch for those that are useful
- Move vouched for builds into the correct category (PvP,PvE,Team)
- Create new articles for builds. Badly lacking are:
- Special farming builds
- All kind of team builds
- Runner builds

Task:Collector Reward Tables
- Using info already available from the Armor Collectors, and using Mesmer Collector Armor as a completed example, fill out the tables for:
- The modules will subsequently be used in the profession's headgear & basic armor articles too.
--PanSola 13:31, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- As an extension of this, fill the blanks in the Armor Collectors article.--William Blackstaff 14:23, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- Using info already available from the Weapon and charm collectors, and using Mesmer Collector Weapons as a completed example, fill out the tables for:
- Elementalist Collector Weapons
- Monk Collector Weapons
- Necromancer Collector Weapons
--PanSola 20:42, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
- Find out unknown bow characteristics for Ranger Collector Weapons. --PanSola 20:53, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Task:Complete Warrior Headgear
- complete Warrior Headgear, but check also all other armor if its completed --HJT 11:17, 8 Oct 2005 (EST)
- Is this the same as Pansola's task above?--William Blackstaff 09:35, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Not quite the same. My task is specifically about collector info (most of which are already on the Armor Collectors page, just need manual laber to compile them into profession-specific tables), while Warrior Headgear contains both collector and crafter info. Also, currently the warrior armor pages use the collectors as entries while I've been using the collectable monster drops as entries for other profession's collector armor. I never got around to get a final consensus on how to handle it, see the about the middle area of this section. Tetris L preferred collector, Karlos suggested both collector and collectable, while I still favor listing the collectable only to reduce clutter. --PanSola 13:50, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Task:Compliation of Key Articles
Status:Completed, Remove Task in a few days if nothing changes --William Blackstaff 11:12, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Summarise and combine one line articles like the seperate key articles (see Elonian Key) into more useful compiliation page.
- Done and Done!
- All the one line articles (e.g. Krytan Key) have had redirects placed on them (although the orignal content hasn't been removed) to the Key article.
- The seperate images for the keys have been moved to the Key article
- Category:Keys still exists although now nothing exists in the category (0 items in category) and nothing links to the category. I didn't put a redirect on that page because well nothing links to to to be redirect.
- Image Table Fixed (Thanks Karlos!!)
- Still Needs to be Done/Requests
- Nothing.
- Done and Done!
Task:Explorable Areas Descriptions
Status:In Progress(??)
- Go through the Explorable Areas and finish descriptions. --Tetris L 16:42, 25 Aug 2005 (EST)
- Areas that need descriptions/expansion
- Regent Valley (Pre-Searing)
- Diessa Lowlands Also missing map which makes the keyed notes kind of useless. Does anyone know where the map went? I'm assuming there was one considering the amount of work that went into making the article.
- Iron Horse Mine
- Ice Floe
- Icedome
- Spearhead Peak
- Tasca's Demise
- Talmark Wilderness
- Tears of the Fallen
- Stingray Strand
- Twin Serpent Lakes
- Sage Lands
- Dry Top
- Tangle Root
- Salt Flats
- Please keep in mind in adding these areas I only checked whether they had a description or not (whether they were called description, overview, general, etc), not the quality or quantity of the descriptions. Some are one line entries and some a multi-paragraph entries (Admittly some of the areas can be describled in one line and some require multiple paragraphs).--William Blackstaff 19:49, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Task:Skill Images Revamp
- Re-upload or rename all Skill Images with their full names, no substitutions except for space -> underscore. Requested by Talrath Stormcrush 13:45, 24 Aug 2005 (EST)
Task:Update PvP Department
- We are rather weak in the PvP department. We need an experienced PvP player (that rules ME out ;)) to add detailed information about all the arenas, GvG battles, guild halls, the HoH fights, fame, rank, etc ... --Tetris L 16:42, 25 Aug 2005 (EST)
- Very much on this. However I could use some help from people with indept knowledge about the lastest GvG builds. Since I am also weak in the get pictures and upload them department, anyone spending the time to produce pictures for the new articles will be more than welcome. --Xeeron 02:25, 24 Sep 2005 (EST)
Task:Complete Weapons List/Articles
- Complete weapons list and articles, with lots of nice images. --Tetris L 18:59, 1 Sep 2005 (EST)
Task:Namespace
- Put something on the GuildWiki namespace links that are on editing pages, protected pages etc. by default GuildWiki:Protected_page GuildWiki:Copyrights GuildWiki:General disclaimer--195.137.4.228 06:13, 25 Sep 2005 (EST)‡
Also GuildWiki:Searching which appears in search results. --Rezyk 07:49, 6 Oct 2005 (EST)
- I put something in that a while ago, but it needs real material Skuld‡ 07:41, 30 October 2005 (EST)
Task:Trade Prices List
Status:Idea Retired, Remove task in a few days if nothing changes --William Blackstaff 09:35, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'd like to see a list of player trade prices for items (unique/collectors/etc). I know this would be a little hard to keep up-to-date, but it could serve as a base reference for the people who have no idea on what sells for what (like me). 27 Oct 2005
- That would be hard for unique as not everyone sells for the same price! It could be attempted though Skuld‡ 01:20, 28 October 2005 (EST)
- That is a really bad idea and one that we have shot down before. If you want to know how much the unique items are worth look at their descriptions, that is what you can sell them to a merchant for. What a player is willing to pay for one is much too fluid to even bother to track. --Rainith 02:05, 28 October 2005 (EST)
- Not gonna happen for three reasons:
- a) As Rainith said, it is volatile. It will change on an almost hourly basis. Which means constant superfluous updates.
- b) Worse (this is my main reason for opposition), there is a vested interest for certain users to MISREPRESENT such information. i.e. A user can edit the Bludgeoner's page and say it's worth 80K then go on the game and tell an interested buyer that 80K is the "standard" price and point him to our page (which he doctored himself). We would be used as a scam site. The inverse is also true, an insidious buyer could edit the Rune of Superior Vigor page to indicate that they sell for 5K then trick some newbie into selling it to him for that price.
- c) There's really a simple selling method for most items in the game. See the trader's sell price and the trader's buy price. Sell your item anywhere in between. It's harder for items not sold by traders (like weapon upgrades), but even for those, just go stand around in Lion's Arch or Droknar's Forge for 30 minutes and you'll come across several requests to buy and sell the item and you'll get a good sense of how much people are asking for and offering for such an item. If you're going to be a trader, you can't be impatient and/or lazy. :)

Wanted images
- See Old image requests for old image requests
- Swirling Aura - seems to be broken :(
- Diessa Lowlands Map
- Soldier's Armor
- Warrior Headgear
Ascalonian ChestKrytan ChestSteel ChestElonian ChestMiner's ChestDarkstone Chest- Image:Mend Ailment.png <-- from that link, it's another one which got lost in the move
Some of these images are caps from the game. It's better if we use the large crisp images in the media kit from Guild Wars' site. --Karlos 20:34, 3 November 2005 (EST)
- Updated the Conjure Flame article with an image. FYI Karlos, the media kits don't have complete images; for instance Ward Against Elements doesn't seem to be in the list at all, so this might not be possible for all of he skills. --William Blackstaff 01:58, 4 November 2005 (EST)
- Thanks. I know that. It does not have any elites, it does not have some skills and it even has the wrong image for other skills (liek Holy Veil). But for the ones that are there, let us use them. --Karlos 05:44, 4 November 2005 (EST)
- Added png image for Ward Against Elements, from screen cap. Cheers from a newcomer.--Krissy 14:22, 7 November 2005 (EST) P.S. I think the server clock is off. The timestamp says 14:22, Nov. 7, but I'm quite sure that it's 6 Nov., 22:22 (EST)
- It varies with where you are, like me in the uk it's 6 hours wrong or something, you can set it in special:preferences — Skuld 11:17, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Issues for Debate
How categories are handled, at Category_talk:Categories#General_Categorization, as well as proposals for new skill categorisations at GuildWiki_talk:Style_and_formatting/Skills#Categories.
The "New" skill template: Looks the same, but changes the way it's coded at Template_Talk:Skill_New.
Last but not least, right here is the debate over whether this new page makes any sense. I'm going for a mostly informal style: This is, after all, a "Community" page for a relatively small community. Personal pronouns are the norm, first person is the view to take.
I was hoping somone would post an article on the various slang used in guild wars such as "LFG", "KD/AS", "Battery" etc
- See Category:Slang & Terminology. ;) --Eightyfour-onesevenfive 23:16, 12 Sep 2005 (EST)
Quick page & category links
On Wikipedia's main page there are some small links, linking to new pages and categories (see Wikipedia:Template:Newpagelinksmain), I find this useful; could we have a similar thing here? I converted it to GuildWiki flavour URLs here User:Skuld/new-links-testtpl --Skuld‡ 19:00, 17 Sep 2005 (EST)
- I would like to see an overhaul of the Main Page completely. The page as it is at the moment does not really look very appealing, and overall seems a bit cluttered. If you look at wikipedia the main page is very clear and concise. <LordBiro>/<Talk> 06:20, 18 Sep 2005 (EST)
- I've made the change, but since this topic relates to the Main Page directly it should be discussed on Talk:Main Page :) <LordBiro>/<Talk> 06:39, 18 Sep 2005 (EST)
- great =D ok. thanks for the tip --Skuld‡ 06:53, 18 Sep 2005 (EST)
