Below are links to GuildWiki's database dumps. They contain all pages on GuildWiki in XML format.
Purpose
Database dumps serve a number of purposes.
- The most obvious purpose is to serve as a backup of all the text content of the wiki. While this is not the most efficient or even most complete (it lacks a user list, files, logs, etc.) method of backing up a wiki, it can serve as a final resort in the event of a catastrophic server failure.
- Users who wish to can use the dumps to set up a mirror of the wiki on their own systems. This can be useful for users who are developing wiki extensions or complex templates and desire a test environment where they will not disrupt the actual wiki.
- Users who want to mine the wiki for information can also make use of the database dumps. Standalone search utilities can perform more complex searches than what is allowed by MediaWiki's search page, and can often return more complete results.
Available dumps
Currently, the only available dump is from December 2, 2010, and it only contains the current revision of each article. We are working with Curse on setting up a schedule for automatically generating both a current-revision dump and an all-revisions dump.
