Blue check

This page is a style and formatting guideline on GuildWiki.

It has general acceptance among editors and is considered a standard to which articles should adhere. However, it is not set in stone and should be treated with common sense and the occasional exception.

Definition[]

A collector is a NPC who offers players items, weapons and armor in exchange for collectable drops.

Template[]

Sections[]

Each Collector article should consist of three segments: header, body, and footer.

Article Header[]

The header portion is primarily made up of the BeastInfo template info box. Fill in only information that is available. Avoid using "Unknown" or question marks. If you do not know what to add, leave it blank rather than deleting it. Use the NPC type, in this case Collector in place of an actual profession. Leave the icon blank - do not remove it.

Please mark new Collector articles with {{collector-stub}}. The stub mark can be removed if the article contains enough relevant information or when there simply isn't much more that can be added.

Article Body[]

The body of a Collector article contains the bulk of the information. As per the general style and formatting guidelines, please omit any section that does not have content.

Common Sections[]

Please use only the listed section names and their following order for all Collector articles. As per the template above, the following sections should be level 3 section headings.

Dialogue
The dialogue presented at the top of the window when you click on the Collector to speak to them.

Special Sections[]

Collector Items
A table listing the name, location, requirement and rewards of the particular NPC. This information is placed on a separate page for inclusion in the article and collectable item articles. These subsections are also indexed in pages such as Collector. Example templates for this section are listed below.

See the editing guide for more information on tables.

Armor[]
  • The page should be called CollectorArmor.
  • Additional rows for campaign specific professions should be at the bottom of the table. List them always in the order shown on the character selection screen. If the collector doesn't offer armor for a specific profession, do not include it.
  • If the collector offers armor and weapons, separate them onto different subsection pages and include them both into the collector's article.

Location
You may include a map to the Collector's location. If this isn't necessary or available at the time of creation of the article it may be omitted.

Article Footer[]

The footer section is meant to contain the Notes and Trivia sections as well as the categories. As with all section names, please use "Notes" (as a level 2 header) to contain any additional comments regarding the NPC in question. Please use "Trivia" (again as a level 2 header") for any trivia information regarding the name or concept of the NPC. Remember to omit these sections if they are not needed. As a matter of consistency, if both are necessary, always place Notes above Trivia.

As for categories, always place them at the bottom of a page. See the following section of the NPC guide regarding the actual categories needed and their ordering.
