The topic that Barek refers to can only be found in the history here, it is not useful or possible to comment upon the Admin noticeboard there instead of here (but it was at the time that Barek wrote the comment), yet Viper feels that it is somehow important that this totally useless, misleading comment be left standing in its untainted glory. I was using common sense; Treat one the same as the other. Point is: Don't remove comments, however wrong and old they are. Exceptions are bad, cause you can treat everything as an exception, and there'll eventually be no limit to deleting content, because it's an exception. --- -- (s)talkpage 12:38, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

You may never remove the comments of others, unless they are on your own talkpage or they are obviously spam/trolling/vandalism/etc. It does not matter how useless the comment may be. Besides, any intelligent user would see that the post was dated from October 2007. (T/C) 23:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Why? (The intelligent user saw it and wondered what it might mean. Researched the issue, even, to the point of digging into the history of one of the most modified pages on the wiki. Uselessly, as it turned out. Tried to spare other intelligent users the same fate by removing what is essentially not a coment by nature, but a Soft Redirect. It seems that's a no-no. Don't get trite with me. This is the way we have always done things here. The history of a page will preserve all comments, but removing something simply because it is inconvenient and not because the removal is necessary, contravenes the spirit of our copyright license. This is why we are not allowed to delete vast amounts of spam posts on talk pages, useless and unsightly and even possibly misleading as they may be. (T/C) 00:23, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi.

The main reason Ariyen was permanently banned on GW2W was that her behaviour towards other users was deemed excessively inappropriate. One example of this being her PMing me on the GW Support Forum with a paranoid and delusional message in which she demands I revert myself, and is incoherent in general. She was, needless to say, quickly put on my Ignore.

Following that perma ban, she abused the GW@W e-mail feature to once again pursue a dialogue regarding GW2W. A local Mursaat who happened to be in the area gave her a 24 hour ban. As I was irritated she had not yet gotten the message and vaguely concerned about how ridiculous her actions were becoming, I contacted Wikia both on-wiki and by e-mail. Sannse responded to both, reassuring me that she would handle the matter. Though it likely goes without saying, Ariyen wound up on my inbox blacklist.

Based on Ariyen's history in the last month alone of contacting me with ridiculous messages (e-mailing me with "You can't ignore me here" being a highlight), I will continue to remove all messages by her account and IP that I find on my talk page. Irrespective of the subject, or who she is addressing, I have put up with more than enough bullshit from this person. That is not something I am willing to negotiate on.

Talk pages are partially owned by the user, partially by the community as a means to contact the user. If she wishes to contact me, she can go through an Administrator. While I understand the her actions (and perma bans) on other Guild Wars related wikis cannot be used as reason to ban her here, I do believe that there is sufficient reasoning here to allow me to decide I will not have this person within a mile of my talk page. She has redefined the word harassment, and while she may have been the one to start it, I will end it.

I am willing to undertake reasonable actions to further prove my claims, if necessary. Upon request I will send her e-mail to me and / or my communication with Wikia Staff and their response to one admin as a gesture of good faith. Regards, A F K When Needed 11:12, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

The User talk is in the userspace, even if it is talk. As such it is my opinion that AFK was justified in his removal of Ariyen's comments. If he so wishes to, he may freely remove comments in his userspace, regardless of justification. Harassment or not, it is his choice in who he talks to, and who he does not. I discourage editing of comments, even for clarity without the express permission of the original author, and removing the comment entirely is the best way to deal with a comment that the person does not want on their page. We have histories on pages for a reason. If the original comment was somehow important, it can be referenced. To all with the power: Hiding edit history is a very powerful tool, and should ONLY be used for purging external links to viruses, worms, trojans, personal information, or explicit content for the protection of all users. As such I support AFK's decision, and ask that Ariyen also respect it and stop trying to contact him on this wiki.--Łô√ë îğá†ħŕášħ 12:11, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Oh, come on comment was for arnout. Giga, read my talk, before listening to someone that is bringing other WIKI drama to here. I think that should be a ban personally, cause you're not suppose to bring other wiki drama to here. It was my fault on gw wikia, but still it's stupid. And he's not asked me specifically or straight forward as I did on gw2w to begin with to leave me alone and not follow me to all of the talks there starting drama. Other wiki drama? I've had to ignore / blacklist you on a Support Forum, an e-mail inbox, you've been banned on two wikis... that's not "drama from some wiki", that's harassment. The entire problem - as I tried to demonstrate above - is that it is not confined to one wiki. While it should have been, you brought it up on multiple other mediums. I have sent an email and I await Gigathrash's response. If afk, feels like he's being harrassed by me. 1. ignore me. 2. put ignore on me in preferences. 3. ask point blank to leave me alone on my talk. However, bringing other wiki drama, isn't that a no no? By gons should be by gons. My only issue was removing a comment that was not at the contibutor nor meant at all to harrass said contributor, but to agf and know it was a response to arnout (sadly, twas on afk's talk (and would have been confusing to bring it to arnout's talk), but isn't that a bit more of a public talk, than the user space it's self?) and would confuse editors/readers at the flow of the content, when another user is responding to my comment.
