The Harvest Ceremony is a long-standing annual Canthan tradition where the Emperor prays for the blessing of the goddess Dwayna at the Kuan Jun Temple. The ceremony continues to be held at the same location every year despite the betrayal of Shiro Tagachi in 1382.
The game events of the Factions Campaign takes place when the Harvest Ceremony of 1582 CC is fast approaching.
Note: In the Guild Wars Factions Pre-order manual and the Guild Wars Factions manual, the Harvest Ceremony is referred to as the Harvest Festival.
