Notes
- This boss is a bit harder to defeat due his powerful and fast-casted heals.
- One of the easiest ways to kill him is to daze him.
- Using Scourge Healing, Defile Flesh, Knockdown, and some form of enchantment removal will help you defeat the group.
- Using Backfire or anti-spam skills such as Diversion will make this boss a lot easier to take down.
- Using a Dervish with Avatar of Grenth will also prevent him from using Healer's Boon, making him a lot easier.
- Although sickeningly difficult to kill in Normal Mode, Hard Mode makes killing him nigh impossible. In addition to the above advice, consider the following:
- Killing Josinq's allies is completely useless until he is dead, as he is capable of ressurecting them in literally less than a second, as well as provide a massive health boost to the whole team.
- Backfire is almost requisite, the beast's exceedingly high armor prohibits almost all forms of regular attacks. Soul Leech can also be helpful if used in tandem with Backfire.
- Maelstrom can be helpful, but due to his casting of all spells at 8x normal speed, it will be difficult to reliably interrupt him.
- If you have one on your team, a Rt/N minion bomber with Death Nova and Signet of Creation can detonate 8 minions at once for nearly 800 instant, armor-ignoring damage. If this doesn't kill Josinq instantly, it will bring his health low enough so that it will be easy to finish him off.
- Perpetual knockdowns can be helpful, but remember that he doesn't even need a full half-second off the ground to cast a spell. Wanderlust combined with Earthbind can often keep him on the ground long enough to be killed. Hammer Warriors, especially those with Backbreaker, can also be helpful.
- Spoil Victor is very useful, as his high maximum health almost ensures that his flock will have lower health than him when healing. He, being an AI, also has a tendency to attack his targets when idle.
- A mesmer with Echo and Blackout can, with the proper energy management, keep his entire skillbar disabled for nearly 30 seconds. This will obviously make the task much easier, but the mesmer will be very vulnerable and would need very powerful energy-gain skills. An Elementalist, with their higher energy pool, could achieve a similar effect, but Josinq would still have the time to cast between the uses of Blackout.
