Description

The Melandru's Stalker is a pet found in certain parts of Ascalon, both before and after the Searing. Melandru's Stalkers can be tamed as pets by using the Ranger skill, Charm Animal.

Charming and taming one of these felines is the objective of the Pre-Searing Ranger quest The Ranger's Companion, and a fair few may be found near Melandru's Shrine a distance north of the quest-giver. You must also have one in order to complete the Post-Searing ranger Quest Endangered Species, so anyone with a charmed Black Bear, Strider, Wolf, or Warthog from Pre-Searing must remove their pet in order to get the rewards. Since these quests give characters Charm Animal, Melandru's stalker is often one of the first animals to be tamed, and remains one of the most popular pets in the Prophecies campaign.

While this animal's physical appearance resembles a brown or melanistic panther, such as a leopard or jaguar, the faint elongated blotches on its sides are reminiscent of an ocelot.
