Mordakai was a leading member of the prestidgious Old-Ascalonian guild; Ascalon's Chosen. He is also the father of the hero Devona, a hammer-weilding warrior like her father. He died in 1052 AE, in the last Guild War, defending the fortress of Kyhlo from an Orrian Guild raid.

Devona still looks up to her dead father, and frequently mentions him and his achievements in idle quotes and dialogue.
