Farming in Pongmei Valley

Pongmei Valley
Just outside Boreas Seabed are two colonies of Rot Wallows, each with an Island Guardian. A third colony can be found just to the south, and two more some distance to the west. Generally it is more efficient to only farm the 3 colonies near Boreas, but some farmers prefer the variety of farming all 5.
Maishang Hills
Travel between Eredon Terrace and Bai Paasu Reach. This route is significantly more difficult, as it crosses the path of two Elementalist bosses: Seacrash, a guardian, and Sarss, a naga. It's also a less tedious route than the first, since the foes and landscape vary more. Seacrash can easily be pulled from the surrounding allies; it's dangerous to tackle this guardian alongside the many wallows.
Silent Surf

Tactics[ | ]

  • Spike and AoE damage helps since the Rot Wallows tend to mob a single target.
  • Hexes from the Rot Wallows can present a danger for a group. Their Vampiric Bite bypasses various protections and is particularly dangerous to a number of standard builds. Weaken Knees causes degeneration to those trying to run away.
  • Always pull the Rot Wallows away from the Island Guardians.
  • Knockdown prevention is very advisable, as the wallows can cause knockdown with their critical hits and the guardians with Signet of Judgment; the wallows will follow a knockdown with Fetid Ground to inflict poison.

Solo farming[ | ]

  • Spirit farmers also work well. Spam your spirits just out of range, then use a Longbow or Flatbow to pull the wallows from their guardian (even solo novices should be able to handle 3-4 wallows). If you choose to take down the guardian, target it with your wand or staff so that you reach optimal range; if you stay at that distance, you often won't suffer any damage at all.
