− | Shields which feature damage reduction cannot reduce the damage done by Spectral Agony, as shields and armors featuring such damage reduction affect only physical damage as of the 7/13/06 update. |

− | Spells that reduce damage taken such as [[Healing Hands]] and [[Life Sheath]] are triggered by the direct damage of [[Spectral Agony]] and therefore can counter that damage, but not the health degeneration. This is in contrast with the skill's description stating that the target "loses health" rather than taking damage. |

Notes[ | ]
- Spectral Agony is used by all Mursaat and their Jade constructs.
- Unlike Mursaat, Jade do not cast Spectral Agony. Instead, it is automatically inflicted with each successful attack.
- Spectral Agony is virtually guaranteed to kill an unprotected target. The best protection against Spectral Agony is infusion. Simply protting or healing through Spectral Agony is not advised.
- Each piece of infused armor will reduce the damage dealt by Spectral Agony. A full set (5 pieces) of infused armor will reduce the damage to much more manageable levels.
- The progression of the green numbers is based on the number of infused armor pieces the target is wearing. This progression is as follows:
Armor pieces
infusedHealth loss
per secondHealth
degenerationTotal health
lost0 100 301 6002 1 42 131 3102 2 29 9 235 3 22 7 180 4 16 5 130 5 9 3 75
- Health degeneration is capped at 10 pips. Any further degeneration serves only to hinder regeneration.
- Assumes a net total of 10 health degeneration.
- The exact progression of the slowdown is unknown. When wearing a fully infused set of armor, little to no slowdown is experienced.
- Heroes and pets are always considered to be fully infused.
- Henchmen are considered to be infused from Thunderhead Keep onwards. Henchmen in other campaigns are not infused.
- Minions, spirits, and all other NPCs, including the Mursaat themselves, are considered to be completely uninfused. This makes plot-critical NPCs, like Jalis Ironhammer, difficult to keep alive when fighting Mursaat.
