Description
Strider is the name given to all Moa Birds (from Post-Searing Ascalon) in Pre-Searing Ascalon. They can be found in the fields outside of Ashford Village and near the gates of Ascalon City in Pre-Searing Ascalon. Contary to the information on the Prima Guide and copied by many other fansites, they do slashing damage just like regular Moa Birds, as opposed to Piercing damage. They are sizeably bigger than the normal Post-Searing Moa Birds.

If you attack the Striders near the location of the Beautiful Feather in Pre-Searing Ascalon outside of the Ashford Abbey and kill them, one or more aggresive Striders will appear and attack you. This is believed to be an allusion to the killing of Cuccos in the Legend of Zelda games.
