Summary
The Superior Salvage Kit costs 2000 gold. The Superior Salvage Kit is identical in function to the Expert Salvage Kit, the only difference being that the Superior kit has 100 uses, versus the Expert version's 25 uses.
There is a clear trade-off: for the 2000 gold cost of one Superior Salvage Kit, you could buy five (5) Expert Salvage Kits which will provide 125 uses instead of merely 100. Alternatively, four Expert Salvage kits provide the same 100 uses for only 1600 gold as one Superior Kit. Thus, Superior kits cost 400 more gold in exchange for the convenience of taking up only one inventory slot (or trips back to the Merchant).

Where To Get It
Superior Salvage Kits are available starting in the Crystal Desert. They are not available in Ascalon, the Northern Shiverpeaks, Kryta or the Maguuma Jungle. They are available in the Crystal Desert, the Southern Shiverpeaks and the Ring of Fire Islands.
They can also be gotten from the Imperial Quartermaster in Kaineng Center in exchange for 5 Imperial Commendations.
How To Use
Double-click the Expert or Superior Salvage Kit icon, then click the item you wish to salvage. The item is then converted into a crafting material, weapon upgrade or rune, whichever is applicable. The salvaged weapon upgrade or rune will then appear in the first open slot in your inventory. Either common or rare crafting materials will be stacked with like crafting materials, up to 250 units at which time a new stack is created in the first open inventory space. If no free spot is available, the item will not be salvaged and you will see a text message informing you of the situation.
