this is why I sometimes just use the PAGENAME template even if the names are shorter. No worries about mis-spelling or future name changes... <_<"

What does this mean??[]

I can't link this to any real-world item, is this something to do with Cantha? — Skuld 06:32, 11 March 2006 (CST)

Chitin is the main component of exoskeletons of most insects, etc. HTH. — Stabber 06:35, 11 March 2006 (CST)
Ah, thanks — Skuld 06:40, 11 March 2006 (CST)

Very late response, but I've included a trivia note on Chitin (which I've always pronounced "Kitten Fragments").69.249.223.63 21:41, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the note! I had to correct a couple things, though: it's a carbohydrate, not a protein; and I can't find any source that gives the pronunciation as "kitten," both Wikipedia and all the entries at Dictionary.com give the other one. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 21:47, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

In light of this change...[]

It's possible more may be changed. Might it be best to have a subpage (similar to the collectors) that uses the {{:(page)}} so we wouldn't have to change all of these pages again (well, um... this proposed change) if they decide to rename stuff? - Evil_Greven 07:45, 11 March 2006 (CST)

you lost me. I don't see how using includes would help in this particular case. -PanSola 07:50, 11 March 2006 (CST)
Well, they've mostly already been changed already, but say a page is made (ex. material/bug) which only has (for example) "chitin fragment" on it. Then on the pages where this material comes from (ex. spider legs), using something like {{:material/bug}}. - Evil_Greven 07:54, 11 March 2006 (CST)
Well, first of all spiders are not insects, so I would hestitate to call them bugs (which equates to insects in my mind). I suppose sub-page by species would work, as part of the species project. It could cut the work down by 3 or 4 fold. -PanSola 08:00, 11 March 2006 (CST)

Use[]

I followed the Healing Ankh link, but there was no info there on how to use Chitin to make Healing Ankhs (thru weaponsmiths). Which info is missing or incorrect here?--War Pig5 00:28, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

None. Just find the weaponsmiths pages.--Gigathrash 00:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Necromancer Obsidian armor[]

Following the link to the Necro obsidian armor page shows that chitin is no longer required in the crafting 'ingredients'. Phineas 18:50, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
