Isn't "Dadao sword" repetative? unless that's the offical name I think the name in the article should be changed.
Actually, "Big sword" is an erroneous translation. "Dadao" is actually two words in Chinese. "Da" is "big," but "dao" does NOT translate into sword. In Chinese martial culture, there is a distinction between single edged blades such as this one, and the double-edged, more "noble" variants. The proper translation for "sword" is "jian" whereas the "dao" actually translates roughly as "blade" or "knife." (a regular dinner knife is called a "dao" for example) Rather than "Big sword," "Dadao" means "big blade." The distinction is a small one, and probably irrelevant to the larger context of a fantasy game, but given that Anet's rendition of the weapon is actually quite accurate to the Chinese "dadao" swords of antiquity (albeit a bit small), I figure this slight mistake in the description would be worth noting. Also, I agree with the above comment that the name is repetitive. However, this is the ingame name, and so the fault lies with Anet.
Thanks. I added the Dadao information into the article based on what you said. Reyas 14:38, 20 October 2006 (CDT)
