Tetris, what is Category:Species? Category:Bestiary is supposed to be an indexing of creatures by species, I'd like to hear your argument before I revert. --Karlos 17:46, 28 October 2005 (EST)

Stone Elementals[]

Anyone ever checked if they're vulnerable to blunt damage? Or resistant to piercing.

I don't believe so, but now I'm curious. I'm going to check. Hashmir 13:43, 12 January 2007 (CST)
o_0 Well, I tested, as an elementalist, both the candy cane bow and hammer against Flint Touchstone. Both have damage ranges of 15-15. The strange part is that the bow did consistently 10 damage, and the hammer either 20 or 28. This would seem to imply that they are in fact resistant to piercing and weak against blunt damage, but it's hard to tell since I don't have have a slashing weapon with the same damage range. I will be testing the 10-10 range cc spear and sword against each other presently. --Hashmir 14:22, 12 January 2007 (CST)

Elementals vs Golems etc[]

How do we know the difference between a Golem and an Elemental? We dont list Golems such as Ice Golem but we list Golems such as Rock Ice. Why not list all Golems, Elementals, Djinn etc here like they do on the other wiki?

Species can often be determined through the use of disease, but for mainly non-fleshy creatures like Elementals, the only option is to use Edge of Extinction. Felix Omni Signature 23:16, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
OK, it seems there are problems, because this page and Category:Golems overlap for a number of monsters. We will need to decide what exactly constitutes a Golem and what constitutes an Elemental. Entropy Sig (T/C) 23:42, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
We need to change golem to a subspecies of elemental.--Gigathrash sig Gîğá†ħŕášħ 00:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
But then we need to have a separate species for things like MOX and Oola's GOLEMs and like and such as. Which would lead to more confusion. Entropy Sig (T/C) 00:51, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm, in that case perhaps we could have a Automaton species?--Gigathrash sig Gîğá†ħŕášħ 01:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
That can only be feasible if automated golems ARE a different species than regular golems, who may or may not be elementals. This is a case of game mechanics, not mere taxonomy. Felix Omni Signature 01:03, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Enter MOX and the Wintersday henchies :P --Gimmethegepgun 01:53, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
