Deleted the note about it automatically picking a new guild leader after the leader has been inactive for an amount of time, since this feature wasnt added in this update, its been in the game for as long as I remember - Former Ruling 02:05, 22 November 2006 (CST)
Set the minimum level to 20 for Random Arenas, Jade Quarry, and Fort Aspenwood.
about time! — Skuld 02:42, 22 November 2006 (CST)

Only Gates of Torment was renamed, and according to the Realm of Torment article history all the other locations have used the singular "Gate" at least as far back as October 30th. Archivist Zisthus and Commander Thurnis (who had no dialogue and were added in the same patch as Churrazek) were also removed. -- Gordon Ecker 04:18, 22 November 2006 (CST)
- So, everyone who called the hellish mission "Gates of Madness" instead of "Gate of Madness" is an idiot, right? I think you are wrong... --Zinger314 12:25, 22 November 2006 (CST)
- There's no moves in the page histories of Gate of Madness (mission) or Gate of Madness (outpost), the article history from Locations (Nightfall) has used the singular "Gate" since the Realm of Torment locations were added on the 30th and this map from the 8th says "Gate". I think people are just getting confused from Gates of Desolation and Gates of Torment, I've probably used Gates more often than Gate. If there was any renaming, it was probably within the first few days of release. -- Gordon Ecker 20:33, 22 November 2006 (CST)

moved from talk:game updates[]
The new feature list inside a table apparently using pre tags (or similar) is overlapping the permemant links table on the right. Can someone how know mediawiki fix this layout issue? I'm using Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP. 69.179.190.108 22:04, 21 November 2006 (CST)
- When I copied and pasted it each line started with either a tab or a bunch of spaces before the asterisk. Apparently mediawiki treats <tab>* or <space>* at the beginning of a line as equivalent to preformatted. It's been fixed. -- Gordon Ecker 01:18, 22 November 2006 (CST)
hm, the new auras.....if you type in say /drums you get them, but if you then type in /dancenew (for those who have the ce for both chapters) all you get is the divine aura--no disco ball or sparkleys for the dance.....you type in /dancenew first you get them but not the divine aura.....messed up a bit....
- It was mentioned by Gaile some time ago that the NF CE dances were already sparkly enough and so DA would only be on the regular dances — kyrasantae 01:56, 22 November 2006 (CST)
The inscription that made items more value got renamed too. Since I play the german GW I can't say what the engl. name was before, it's now:
Inscription: "Show me the Money!"
Improved sale value
- Lilly
- It has been named like that since it was added in one of the previous updates - no change. --84-175 (talk) 08:23, 22 November 2006 (CST)
- Ok, then the name got only changed in German. It had a different name yesterday.
I noticed last night that Bladed Aataxes no longer clip each other (that is, they stack up on top of each other). I believe that certain creatures such as Scales behave that way deliberately, but Aataxes never did. I'm not sure if this is new with last nights build, or 2 nights ago, but it is new behavior. In the recent past, they had all kinds of trouble getting to their target because they took up so much space. Oblio 11:30, 22 November 2006 (CST)
- Nice one! Stuck Aatxes were a pain and a blessing. This seems more reasonabla, although it might make my N/Me SS soloing impossible. ;) -- (talk) 12:31, 22 November 2006 (CST)
- That means they won't body block themselves as much when in a trapping group allowing more hits on them. I like this actually. :D -- Vallen Frostweaver 13:04, 22 November 2006 (CST)
hero weapons in storage[]
Removed "*You can no longer place hero default weapons in storage.", added by 24.219.216.99. You couldn't directly do this for a long time (I believe since nf came out, but might be wrong there), and you still can place them in storage by having the hero wear it and pulling a weapon from storage into their hands (thereby exchanging the weapons). 134.130.4.46 23:42, 22 November 2006 (CST)
Preceptor Zunark[]
Gordon Ecker added the line Preceptor Zunark's profession has been changed from Monk to Dervish. but if you look at the history of this guys page then it looks like the opposite has happened. Which on is true? -- Jill Bioskop X 02:01, 23 November 2006 (CST)
- At the time I edited the Preceptor Zunark article it said Dervish and he was a Monk. A few hours later Anet did another update and an anonymous user (87.123.159.78) reverted the article back to Dervish without a comment or skills used. Now that I have done the quest I can't go back and confirm what class he is, so could someone else please check this? --SET 12:20, 23 November 2006 (CST)
- It was a typo. I meant to type "Dervish to Monk" but I messed up the order, and have since corrected it. It was based on the contents of the Preceptor Zunark and skills by capture location (Nightfall) articles rather than personal observation. -- Gordon Ecker 01:43, 25 November 2006 (CST)
Character from another campaign - sure you wish to enter mission?[]
When trying to enter a mission pre-lions in Tyria with a Nightfall (guessing it also applies to Factions) character you are presented with the following confirmation popup:
Your party has characters from another campaign. Are you sure you wish to enter this mission?
When you enter the mission you see the following message on screen after the dialogs, if any.
You are about to relive the events as they occured for the people of Ascalon prior to your arrivel in Lion's Arch.84.48.169.249 22:27, 23 November 2006 (CST)
Have no clue what these messages are intended to do
- The messages are letting you know you won't be able to get the mission reward because you're from another campaign, the second message is simply telling you that the missions are not in "storyline continuity" for the character you are currently playing. DKS01 00:49, 24 November 2006 (CST)
- "you know you won't be able to get the mission reward"?? I have a Tyrian character, and played both Factions and NightFall isles, and even with this message, I were able to play cooperative missions and effectively get the rewards.. Corsaire 03:10, 24 November 2006 (CST)
These have been around ever since Tyrian characters have been allowed to play the Factions missions on the starter island, etc. Technically it should not *give* you the XP and skill point rewards (it hasn't for me). — kyrasantae 04:18, 24 November 2006 (CST)
- Can't remember exactly.. I'll try to test this tonight and confirm.. Corsaire 05:46, 24 November 2006 (CST)
My Tyrian character did Minister Cho's Estate and the other island mission in Factions - Got the notice and didn't receive any reward. The same character recently did Ch.Village and J.Diggings in Nightfall - I did not receive a warning, and got the rewards (Though the "You are reliving events that have already occured" message did show). So it seems that Nightfall hasn't fully been locked out yet to foreigners reward wise (I don't mind - I got 6 free skill points and a Signet of Capture from that quest thats just recently been locked to foreigners lol) - Former Ruling 12:45, 26 November 2006 (CST)
Simple, the storyline in Nightfall is set later on than the stories of the other 2 chapters. --FireFox 18:47, 28 November 2006 (CST)
- I'm not so sure about that... As far as I remember, if you talk to Mhenlo about going from NF to Kryta, he'll tell you something like "even though my own homeland's in peril, I've come to help you" Artemis Faul 18:22, 3 December 2006 (CST)
- Well he says that Tyria and Cantha "have their own problems", which is true and always will be. Chronologically, the events of Nightfall are supposed to be three years after the ones in Prophecies/Factions, which were largely concurrent. Arshay Duskbrow 18:25, 3 December 2006 (CST)
- What really makes no sense is if you finish the Nightfall campaign and then complete Prophecies. --Valentein 18:38, 3 December 2006 (CST)
