Umm, try looking at the history before making a reply? The noises were removed in a LATER UPDATE. Blade posted his comment BEFORE that update. DKS01 03:23, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Umm, can I see at what time the later update was made? No, because I was asleep at that time. -_- Blaze 03:26, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Umm, yes, you can see at what time the later update was made. Go to the article, click the little button at the top of the page, and it gives you the time. Not that it should matter either way, common sense should have told you the comment about it being noisy was posted after the update that allowed minis in town and BEFORE the update that took away their noises. Sunspear

SFL:KJSDLFJSD GRRRRRRRR My warrior went from 8/10 titles maxed to 4/10 this update...Added the info, can get screen if necessary. --Dragonaxe 17:21, 14 February 2007 (CST)

I think this is put an obstacle for those who have obtained the Spearmarshal title in the past using the now-patched rez loophole that some people have used to get the title. Pretty nice smack to those exploiters (cheaters?) if you ask me. LOL. --66.56.228.102 17:29, 14 February 2007 (CST)
It's a pretty big smack to all the players. I'm not so keen on maxed titles to begin with, but making some of them unreachable seems awfully unreasonable.--VFG-sig2VoteForGwen 23:56, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Unreachable titles isn't something new with this update though. Max skill hunter has been unreachable since it was introduced, and even though it was supposedly going to be fixed in January, it STILL cannot be maxed. Since I'm not aiming for KoAB it's not a big issue, but it is kinda silly that my ranger has capped every elite in the game and still doesn't have the track for elite skill caps maxed. DKS01 01:50, 15 February 2007 (CST)
So they've bumped the max to 30k sunspear points, but still no announcement on HOW we can get more points (ie, no more bounties after 7,500 points, and only limited max amount from quest rewards) --Wolfie 02:14, 15 February 2007 (CST)
Yeah, I wish they'd just make them reachable already and be done with it. Even sillier to add a new tier to Sunspear when the PREVIOUS max tier was already made unreachable. Anet does some things SOOO right, and then other things they do I almost wonder if they just have a team of trained monkeys working for them. DKS01 04:35, 15 February 2007 (CST)
IE Exploit comment...I do believe Gaile said it was clever gamers that would find a "creative solution".... --Dragonaxe 05:36, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Oh fudge, can never get Zenmai now.

Heh, I did Gain Olias, but I never did gain zenmai. Now, I can't get the new zenmai quest. Oh well, I don't like sins anyways. —BlastThatTBlastedt 17:25, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Maybe if you abandon "Gain Zenmai" you can take the new quest? DKS01 17:32, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Never took it? —BlastThatTBlastedt 17:33, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Never took it at all? And it still won't let you get the new one? Weird. DKS01 17:39, 14 February 2007 (CST)
At first, I didn't like the sin hero either, same for the Dervish ... but then I was experimenting with the Build:A/N Repeating Moebius, the same one I use for my own sin in PvP and Zenmai seems to work it quite well ... though, I might play around with other stuff and probably incorporate a self-heal into it, but for now, Zenmai can do some pretty hefty damage with it. Sins can be pretty tricky to work with but after using one for quite some time, I have grown accustomed to some of their ups and downs. They won't replace the tried-n-true Warrior as a Tank, but at least they can do some pretty hard damage when built right.--66.56.228.102 17:38, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Protector

According to Gaile Gray, the protector titles will be fixed in a few hours. --17:29, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Regardless, when hard mode is available, the only way we won't lose the protector titles is counting hard mode as it's own title track, independent from protector. But that'll never happen since it reduces the prestige of KoaBD/PKM. Thus, we're screwed. --8765 18:14, 14 February 2007 (CST)
It better be fixed, or Gaile will be proved to be a liar. 132.203.83.38 18:43, 14 February 2007 (CST)
That's already been proven. --8765 19:34, 14 February 2007 (CST)
No shit. Remember how we were told that we'd never get a "switch character without logging out because it's for your own good ans security" option?
Personal (and misguided) attacks against Gaile certainly won't solve anything, that's for sure. — HarshLanguage HarshLanguage 03:00, 15 February 2007 (CST)
It was not a misguided "attack" (I dispute it being an attack. It's just a fact. If you lie, you're a liar.) She stated that Protector titles wouldn't be reduced in value. Then briefly they were. But they were changed back. So who cares? Don't discredit someone for stating the truth. 132.203.83.38 08:27, 15 February 2007 (CST)
A lie is deliberate. She may have stated that because she thought they WOULDN'T be and didn't know otherwise. If I say I have $10 in my pocket, then it turns out I only have $8 cause I bought a burger the day before and forgot it it doesn't mean I was lying about having $10, it means I was MISTAKEN about having $10. If I say I don't own Zatoichi on DVD, then go out and buy it, it doesn't mean I lied when I said I didn't own it, it means the situation changed. Just like she may have been mistaken about it. Or for that matter, she doesn't make up the info anyways, she may have just told us what SHE was told, which certainly doesn't make HER a liar for relaying to us what the devs told her. Not her fault the devs were wrong/lying to HER/mistaken/whatever. DKS01 10:05, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Skill and Attribs Panel

Overall I like the changes, though some seem to be of limited usefulness. But the changed location (and order?) of the attrib up/down buttons is driving me nuts! I'll need time to adapt. And the whole panel looks... busier, I guess, not as sleek and simple. Also, the skill bar window shown in the templates list is slick, but covers up the names of the templates, making it harder to use. I'm sure they'll adjust it, though. — HarshLanguage HarshLanguage 18:15, 14 February 2007 (CST)

I really hope they fix it soon, it's annoying as hell to try to change a template and having the names covered up by the skills. DKS01 18:16, 14 February 2007 (CST)
I love the "small grid" skills view though. –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 18:23, 14 February 2007 (CST)
I like the skill bar summary (click the "^ ^ ^" button in the panel). I think it may have been put there for convenience in writing up builds for forums or whatever, so that one can immediately see the stats for the skills without having to look up the numbers one by one - just take a screenshot, and there you are. — User:Kyrasantae kyrasantae 20:01, 14 February 2007 (CST)

nvm, indeed, bugged. –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 20:24, 14 February 2007 (CST)

I just removed the note by 66.227.147.113 saying the template skillbar popup problem (obscuring the template names in the list) could be fixed by enlarging the window. That's not correct. The skillbar popup always appears at a set distance from the left side of the window, so making the window larger or smaller doesn't change the fact that the popup obscures the template names below it. — HarshLanguage HarshLanguage 23:48, 14 February 2007 (CST)

The light-colored "shadow" for each slot in storage and inventory are now brighter. I compared to some screenshots on the wiki, and a shot I happened to have of my inventory screen from a while ago, and the boxes are definitely brighter. — HarshLanguage HarshLanguage 18:37, 14 February 2007 (CST)

This is Weird

Ever since it said that a new update was comming and everyone had to exit the game, I haven't been able to come back on. It is so wierd, my computer is very fast yet Guild Wars will not load. Has this happened to any of you, and what should i do about it?

Ocasionaly, updates will fail on a user-to-user basis. if you have no other options, try reinstalling guild wars. -TehBuG-

Clarify please

Can someone please clarify "If a character has done either of the old hero quests without doing the other, they will not be able to get the other's new counterpart. Characters like this will not as of now be able to unlock the other hero."? What is the "old hero quests"? Olias and Zenmai? What is "the other's new counterpart"? I can't unlock the other hero? Which is "the other hero"? Is it so hard to use names instead of "this", "that", and "other"? --Ab.Er.Rant Necromancer (msg Aberrant80) 20:27, 14 February 2007 (CST)

I did Gain Olias before update, but never took Gain Zenmai. now, I am not able to get Zenmai as her new quest isn't offered. That's what I meant. —BlastThatTBlastedt 20:30, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Ah, I see. That sucks! Now we have to pick between Olias and Zenmai?? --Ab.Er.Rant Necromancer (msg Aberrant80) 20:38, 14 February 2007 (CST)
What do you mean, "we"? If you didn't get them way back when you kinda don't deserve to be complaining now. Those quests have been out for a long time. >< Entropy 20:41, 14 February 2007 (CST)
I dont care, its just a bug. No, you don't have to pick, it just seems that completing either before counts as had completing both back then, so she won't give me the Zenmai quest. —BlastThatTBlastedt 20:42, 14 February 2007 (CST)
To clarify: old hero quests=the quests before they were updated today.
the other's new counterpart=Gain Olias's other new counterpart = chasing zenmai or whatever. Gain Zenmai's other new counterpart=all for one and one for all or w/e it is.
the other hero=I did Gain Olias, the other hero is Zenmai.
Is it so hard....other?=yes. —BlastThatTBlastedt 20:45, 14 February 2007 (CST)
It's a bit of a confusing bug, I suppose. But it is certainly just that, a BUG. It would be silly of Anet to punish folks for not doing both Zenmai and Olias's quests immediately. Besides, they've already established a clear record in NF that a character will be able (eventually) to unlock all heroes. — HarshLanguage HarshLanguage 20:48, 14 February 2007 (CST)
yeah, if you only got one hero before the update, you can't get the other now. —BlastThatTBlastedt 20:49, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Entropy, that's a very weird logic. So since NF has been released for so long, and they suddenly decide to remove dervish as a profession and I haven't created one yet, I can't complain either? Because I should have created a dervish by now? Strange. If this isn't a bug, so 4 of my characters have both Olias and Zenmai, and the other 4 cannot have both Olias and Zenmai simply because its subject to Anet's whim on when to remove content and force choices? What if they do this for Margrid and Master of Whispers as well? Is that even logical? You either remove them for everybody or you don't remove them. This is not a special event. You cannot penalize people for not doing certain things because they haven't gotten around to it yet. --Ab.Er.Rant Necromancer (msg Aberrant80) 22:15, 14 February 2007 (CST)
I /disagree, obviously if you couldn't be bothered to get the Heroes back then then you shouldn't have any qualms about it now, 6 months later or whatever. I mean honestly. The quests took like 5 ninutes? And I think your logic is strange too. Dervish, Master of Whispers, and Margrid are all part of the primary storyline plot. Professions don't get removed, neither do Heroes that you must have to finish Nightfall. But Olias and Zenmai? You never needed to get them...they were just extras for Prophecies and Factions folks, a little gift for them to compensate for the fact they didn't get any Heroes in those campaigns. It was also a sales pitch to help Nightfall owners buy Factions and Prophecies. Lastly, I suspect that this "bug" will be fixed shortly, so noone should be complaining in any case. ANet wouldn't deny the rights to a feature just because of a stupid bug. But I'm just saying, complaining now is kind of...stupud. Entropy 11:01, 15 February 2007 (CST)
TO CLARIFY AGAIN: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PICK: I ONLY GOT ONE BEFORE THE UPDATE, now the other is inasscessible. It should work fine if you start a new characters. Where do you8 get that idea?? —BlastThatTBlastedt 15:16, 15 February 2007 (CST)
I didn't get Factions until after this update but i had NF before. I was able to get Olias but now i can't get Zenmai. I'm being penalized for not having Factions before this update.

Muted Miniatures

That was a bit harsh solution. It wasn't necessary to mute them in explorable areas as well in my opinion. -Taala 23:19, 14 February 2007 (CST)

A nicer (but more time expensive for ArenaNet) would have been to have an additional sound option to toggle the mini-pet sounds on/off, then they could have maybe added sounds for the other other mini-pets. Personally, I'm with Aberant80 on this one, find having something "growling at me" which is not something either friend or foe very distracting in a fight as I often use sounds as a way of knowing what to target. --Wolfie 02:14, 15 February 2007 (CST)
The Wheel Weaves as the Wheel wills. i personally, like not having to listen to Kunni's and trolls. now, if only we didn't have to ""listen"" to Guild advertising in !all, and SpammTards. -TehBuG-

Minipets in towns

Would have perferred a "Number of mini-pets to show" slider under the Graphics options rather than a hard-set limit of 20 visible in towns. That way, ppl with low-end graphics cards or not like to see minipets all over the place could opt to slide down to 0, whereas those with high-end video cards/PCs might like to slide up to a higher value. Personally, think mini-pets a waste of... well anyway, some ppl like/love em, so will leave there. :) --Wolfie 02:14, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Well it's not just visibility they limit with that 20. The game tells you there's too many miniatures out and won't allow more to be added if you try to use yours after the 20 limit has been reached. So I don't think having more than 20 is an option at least. -Taala 02:32, 15 February 2007 (CST)
Ahh, ok, was under the impression the "20" referred to the number of mini-pets drawn on the screen (ie, the 20 nearest to where you're standing are visable, so if two ppl standing in opposite ends of the same town, would each see a different 20 mini-pets). But if you're seeing some sort of output from the game stating "too many mini-pets", then my assumption was wrong. --Wolfie 02:47, 15 February 2007 (CST)

New quest for Zenmai appears to be causing an already aquired Zenmai to become stuck in Bukdek Byway and The Undercity. When I enter these two explorable areas, she stands at the entrance and won't move/cast/fight/respond to flags/etc. Looks like the new "Chase Zenmai" quest has broken her behaviour in the areas you need to chase her when you haven't done the new quest.

Should probably report it. Ghost1 22:59, 14 February 2007 (CST)

What happens when there are 20 miniatures in one district and someone tries to activate his miniature? Matek D2lod 05:21, 15 February 2007 (CST)

You get a message along the lines of : "This district has reached the maximum amount of miniatures. Please try again later."--Ishmaeel 06:32, 15 February 2007 (CST)
I would hope it just replaces the oldest one, it would not be wise to give a message saying "there are too many" thus allowing people to lock the district, make them the same a spirits, (or hexes, enchantments or conditions), the newest one replaces the older ones. --Heurist 06:38, 15 February 2007 (CST)
If they did that people would relentlessly change miniatures, there would be fights over who got to have theirs, and in crowded places it would only last a few seconds. The way it's been done introduces problems too, primarily what will happen when people go AFK with their mini out. Personally though, I just want to know why they took out mini sound. I love hearing my troll scream in missions, and it surprises my party members in FoW by making them think an Abyssal is coming. --Arkhar 15:51 February 15 2007 (MST)
