I'm amazed that IP bans haven't been used before o.o JamJamster Sig.gifster 22:13, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad Anet is strengthening the attack against the Real-Money Traders. Good Work Anet! Chaos Drummer 22:20, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

IP bans usually aren't a very good option, some providers actually do give out the same IP address more than once, and you might share your IP address with someone close to you, also by means of a proxy you can get around IP bans, although it looks like they took care of that issue by saying they have countermeasures for proxies and only IP banning the money trading companies, not just anyone that does it (or I misread) --GamerJ (Talk!) 22:25, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
IP bans are not perfect, but still it's way better then nothing. I'm really looking forward to spending an hour in Kamadan or the Great Temple of Balthazar without looking at a gold site add one of these days. All in all it's great to see that someone is doing something about it. Go, go!! — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o, 23:23, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
IP bans are a HORRIBLE way to go. If even ONE legitimate player shares an IP with one of these companies and gets banned for it(which has already happened before, I might add), it's worse IMO than having 10 THOUSAND bots farming and spamming. So no, doing nothing IS better than IP bans, if you ask me. DKS01 06:01, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Go play in traffic, kthx. DKS01 07:52, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
24h trade limitation sounds quite good though. But still... IP bans, argh. That just happened to me here, some vandal's IP blocked and I couldn't get here at home... But it's a good thing that ANet is actually trying to do something to this problem. J Striker 07:50, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Is this 24h creation time or 24h played time.. because 24h creation time is not going to stop bots at all.. they just create one batch of accounts to be used 24h later. --83.248.168.119 16:24, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Well the idea is that those accounts will be caught within 24 hours of creation. Felix Omni Signature.png 16:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Only one problem with this update. An update against RMTs so late in the GW series. They should of gone about this policy much sooner, and with the economy in GW already inflated, this is not much use. All those RMT supporters are already prodding around in their "hard earned" elite armor. And most of them are suffering from inepititude and know nothing about the game. --Lann-sf2.jpg Lann 19:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
