I have the absolute best video of a gank (preformed by my guild and I in ranked gvg), would it be ok if I put a link to it on, Top 100 Guild 07:55, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

I would be hesitant (since you can envision a bazillion other players wanting to do the same thing), however, if it's instructional, not boastful, then post it as an external link and if users like it, it will stay, if they hate it, you'll know about it. :) --Karlos 11:22, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

Instructional...well I'll show you the original video, if that's not good enough I can poorly edit some directions onto the video.(when i get home)-Onlyashadow, Top 100 Guild 12:46, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

new meaning?

I've been hearing lots of people misuse this term to mean a single person splitting to attack NPCs. I wouldn't suggest adding it to the page except I've heard hundreds of people misuse it in this way. Not a fifty five 18:20, 11 April 2007 (CDT)

I kind of disagree with this article, and with the previous comment here (no offense). This article is for the most part describing splitting, which is pretty common in pvp. It's just splitting your team into 2 groups to fight on 2 fronts. Ganking has more a connotation of trying to pull a fast one on your opponent - whether it be sending 1 person into their base to kill NPCs, or full team gank a Guild Lord because the other team is out of position. My point: all ganks are splits, but not all splits are ganks.Silentvex 09:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Hah, for over a year I was using the WoW definition of gank in GW, where it meant you repeatedly went for the poor little lost sheep who are trying to rejoin their squad after respawning. Guh. 17:56, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
