that smiting rots say they do "light damage" , whatever that means, i dont think its lightning damage.

Light Damage is what used to be called Holy Damage. --Rainith

Shouldn't "Ride the Lightning" be added to this list? - The preceding unsigned comment was added by 204.50.197.53 (talkcontribs) 13:28, 28 June 2006.

Yes, and I added it now based on this comment. However, feel free to add information that you think should be there. Be bold, as they say. - Greven 20:21, 28 June 2006 (CDT)

I've kept wondering, does a Storm Bow do lightning damage?--Relyk 03:32, 23 January 2007 (CST)

Vs. Enchanted[]

Tested using a Shocking Ascalon Shortbow and a Fiery Composite Bow with identical requirements and other mods, marksmanship at 13. Used no bow attacks/skills to increase damage.

Versus the Enchanted Swords, Enchanted Bows, and Enchanted Hammers around Dunes of Despair:

Shocking damage was from 20 min...70 max.

Fiery damage was from 15 min...30 max.

70 damage versus Enchanted is a lot, due to their high AL. A Warrior using Executioner's Strike at Axe Mastery 13 and with a 15^50 customized axe that deals slashing damage would be lucky to achieve the same results.

The only other possibility is that Enchanted are weak to piercing damage, however this seems highly unlikely, noting the results for the Fiery Composite Bow.

An Elementalist with Lightning Surge would be needed to better test this, as that is one of the only lightning spells that does not have 25% Armor Penetration. A Ritualist would work as well.

emm they might be weak against lightning damage and not fire damage. -- Xeon 03:42, 23 January 2007 (CST)
Yeah I realized that a bit late >< But the results are still valid, went back and tested vs. a Sundering Hornbow, which has possible 30% AP. After long trials I concluded that the results were accurate. Lightning still gives more damage. ;) In any case, Lightning Surge does something like 115 damage to them, so that works too. Vs. Tengu[]

Hmm, Lightning Damage is effective versus every single Tengu in the book - Caromi Tengu, Avicara Tengu, Sensali Tengu, Tengu Elite...etc etc. I changed it to Tengu (all species) to reflect this, as it seems redundant to list every single Tengu mob in the list. Entropy 11:43, 28 January 2007 (CST)

Random note: Talon Silverwing takes extra damage from Lightning too, at least in The Norn Fighting Tournament. I wonder if this also applies when he is a Henchman. Entropy Sig (T/C) 05:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
