Talk:Melandru's Stalker

I see the page has been labeled with the 'monster stub', would an animal stub be needed, a stalker is an animal rather than a monster; and the profession has been labeled as unknown, animals don't have professions though do they? --Skuld 01:59, 10 Sep 2005 (EST)

some do. pre searing wolf and spiders are two i can think of--JRyan 01:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Actually the Pre-Searing Wolf doesn't... But the Post-Searing Stonewolves do (Warrior), and the Moss Spiders in Pre-Searing are evidently Rangers, and can't be charmed, so they're not even considered 'Animals'. --Naoroji 18:30, 3 June 2008 (GMT +1)

Pre- - Post-Searing[edit source]

Is there any difference between the Melandru's Stalker skins of Pre-Searing and Post-Searing? Or any differences at all? Mokushiroku no Yami 05:39, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Rare? Say What?[edit source]

Not that I am going to bother editing the page myself, but I don't think scarcity in spawning numbers makes this animal particularly rare. In fact I would argue that since this is part of a quest line it is a fairly commonly used pet, up until its owner gets the nerve to go get a new one. There are two to three Melandru's Stalkers in Pre-Searing Regent Valley, and two more by The Breach gate. Unlike many Tyrian Spawns, these are far from random, in fact, from what I have seen, they have been the most consistent spawns in Tyria. I'd have to say, if someone agrees with me, edit the "rare" part out. Crovo 01:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I think they are called "rare" because unlike most other animals, they only spawn in one place. Compare to say, Moa Birds or Bears which you'll find all over Ascalon/Shiverpeaks. But I agree it doesn't make much sense because Pre quests / one Post quest make it highly likely you'll have a Stalker. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 02:17, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
