This article was deleted yesterday. Did I miss the warning? Was there any discussion? I'd like to see it restored. I had created this article because ANet used the term in Game updates/20060302#Equipment, and because in location articles it would be nice to have this as a term in the NPC tree. --Tetris L 17:33, 15 March 2006 (CST)

Article resotred. Slug it out with Skuld. It's his fault. :) --Karlos 19:03, 15 March 2006 (CST)
I think it was Rainith. Damn Nazi admin! ;) ;) ;) --Tetris L 19:07, 15 March 2006 (CST)
Skuld put the tag claiming it was unheard of. Rainith acting on innocent trust, believed him. :) --Karlos 19:11, 15 March 2006 (CST)

Deletion[]

When the article was deleted, the only thing that linked to said article was the update. While ANet has used the term in that one update, nowhere in the game is the term mentioned, nor do I personally see a use for it here. Essentially what this page is, is a disambiguation page with nothing linking to it. --Rainith 01:10, 16 March 2006 (CST)

This page should stay. The term has been used by ArenaNet repeatedly, even if that's not immediately apparent (which is merely a lack of linking). It was used by ArenaNet on June 1st, 2005, and some number of times since then. Other people's edits on a few pages show that it is a generally used term. Additionally, I do occasionally hear it used in-game (though admittedly rarely).
The search for the word Vendor shows it is on six of our pages (even if they aren't all linked; four of them are from game updates)

Sorry let me re-state my comment then, ANet does not use the term in-game and only uses it occasionally in updates (where they also like to spell things wrong: Hero's Ascent). --Rainith 02:35, 16 March 2006 (CST)
Fair enough. I'd like to see it stay if only because it seems like the term actually is used by players (if not heavily). At worst, let's at least keep a redirect page for people who type 'Vendor' into the search button. --JoDiamonds 02:38, 16 March 2006 (CST)
I've got no problem with a re-direct (to Merchant or Trader) or keeping the page as is but throwing a {disambig} tag on it and taking it out of its current categories. --Rainith 03:08, 16 March 2006 (CST)
It should stay. It's not only an official term, it serves a purpose. It is the only way to collectively refer to all NPC vendors. We can't call them merchants, or traders or crafters cause each means something different. Vendor is the term that describes any of the three. For example, the "Vendors in Lion's Arch are near the storage." --Karlos 03:53, 16 March 2006 (CST)
