Name Change[]

This is now a White Reaver. I cannot fathom why they'd change a name for a weapon that NOBODY uses, but hey. Someone move the article accordingly. Seb2net 21:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Confusion, and people thinking that its a scythe, I'd assume. --Warwick sig Warwick (Talk)/(Contr.) 21:19, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
It's really quite sad that the name of this and the Dragon Kamas Daggers had to be changed because of so called confusion. Anyone with these weapons would know that they weren't Scythes, if at least because when equipped they aren't huge, two handed, and capable of hitting three targets at once. And even if one had never seen, heard, or had one before, and traded for one thinking it was a dervish weapon, it's really quite obvious when you scroll over the item and you see that it has an axe mastery or dagger mastery req., that it isn't a scythe. IMO, this is just dumbing down stuff for abysmally stupid people and highly careless ones. - Chaos Drummer 03:02, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I like the name change since it removes confusion of the weapon type. I got a gold White Scythe drop a few months back and one of my party members said, "I have a friend who might want to buy that scythe." Apparently, the person did not know it was an axe, but instead thought it was some scythe. Chaos Drummer, ANet is not dumbing it down for people, they are just making the game better by actually making things more sensible. If anybody is "abysmally stupid", it is you, Chaos Drummer, because you made an idiotic assumption that the new weapon names were meant for "abysmally stupid people". Sensible or not, you should remember GW:NPA. J Striker 05:59, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out, J Striker. Anemos1 Anemos 05:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

If they're doing this, are they going to change the name of the White Mantle Ritualists to White Mantle Necromancer? It's the same thing, they're changing things that imho, don't need to be changed.--71.112.111.68 05:15, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

If I wasn't such a loser who memorizes GWiki (unintenionally mind you), I would have no idea that an item called a "White Scythe" is an axe. Why would it be? I'm glad they changed it, saves people who don't know better a lot of confusion. --Shadowcrest 05:19, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
is there any chance we could get a rederect from "white scythe" to this? i had a hard time finding this page when looking for it (i had last seen it before the name change) when trying to find a collectors version of the skin (this is my favorite axe skin, and i want to get a max one). Uh, White Scythe already redirects here. Did you not capitalize it properly? —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 16:45, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
