Hello! I want to thank you for everything you have done for the Guild Wiki. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Tesla, a wiki manager for Curse. The reason I am posting on your talk page is for some feedback. I was hoping you could tell me if there was something you would like to see on the wiki or if you think there is something we could do to help improve the quality of our service to the community. If you have any ideas at all, please feel free to stop by on my [[User_talk:Tesla|talk page]] and leave me your thoughts. Thank you! [[User:Tesla|Tesla]] 03:40, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Is for me, showing up as a small box. Missed some /close tags or something? Arnout aka The Emperors Angel 10:58, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Also, the 'cursor' CSS property doesn't do what you think it does. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 14:19, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
I could use some help. *smile* Also, I noticed the icon that I see for no-drop is I figured an icon used in windows 7 that's different from the images shown. Ariyen 16:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see the last change you made to the cursor. That is correct usage, but I would recommend against using it, simply because it's bad web design. I fixed the table problem. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 16:24, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I just wanted a different cursor to use for the talk. Ariyen 16:27, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Laptop

I get power from the cord (due to a light), but... NOTHING turns on ... On my laptop... Looks like Warranty time. :-( I've tried w/just battery and without battery, with just cord and w/out cord and what all I could do and think of... It just sits there... I wanna cry... 72.148.31.114 00:03, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't turn on at all? Dead mobo since it's a laptop. ∵Scythe∵ 01:16, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
yea, that's what I'm thinking. :-( 72.148.31.114 02:34, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank goodness for warranty. It's in repair status now at Hewlett Packard. Ariyen 22:57, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Woot, woot! (yes, that's a phineas and ferb reference) Laptop repaired and it'll be here in two days! They replaced the motherboard, which I had told the guy on the phone was a thought of mine. ^.^ So thankful for warranty. ^.^ Ariyen 03:47, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Just got in my laptop and now my desktop is dying ! Agh! LOL. Ah, the craziness of computers. 72.148.31.114 20:57, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Your userpage, the schedule template

Hi, I'm new to Wikipedia formatting and editing. I was wondering if you could explain that 'schedule template' you have(not sure what to call it). It's on your userpage, lists the daily activities. Did you make it yourself? How are the activities linked automatically? etc The preceding unsigned comment was added by 174.28.127.194 (contribs) .

Hi!
This is not Wikipedia. This is GuildWiki. ;)
'Schedule template' is the correct terminology, yes.
Just how much detail would you like me to go into? The activities aren't randomly chosen each day by ArenaNet; they're on a cycle. So the wiki has them in order and - just like in-game - every 24 hours the wiki jumps to the next one. This is done on a seperate page for each. Let's take Zaishen Vanquish as an example;
On this page, is the complete list. Each Vanquish is represented by a number. On this other page is the number for today (automatically updated every 24 hours).
So there's no day-to-day maintenance, just a bit of work initially to tell the wiki what to do, and then if they ever change the system, needless to say we'll have to follow suit.
If you've any other questions, feel free to ask. ;)
The genius behind this system (and the one who implemented it for each activity) is this guy.
Please end your messages on talk pages with ~~~~, as this tells us who you are, which is rather necessary to avoid confusion in a discussion involving multiple people. ;) User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 18:30, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
You're slightly incorrect, because I did not create the original implementation for those schedule templates (it was this guy). I merely streamlined them to run more efficiently. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 18:53, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Speaking of scheduling. Ish, is there a way to show the last edit of the traveler information? The date and time that is? Cause I'd like to add it into the traveler part. Ariyen 19:10, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Uh, that's not what the {{last update}} template (the usage of which on Nicholas the Traveler I believe you are referring to) is doing. It lists the last time the cached version of the current page was rebuilt. The link on the word "update" performs "action=purge" which forces the cache to be rebuilt. The purpose of this is to indicate whether the current page might be out-of-date in regard to content it is including from other pages or content generated by DPL/SMW. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 20:01, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
I know, hence I was wondering if there was something I could use that would show the last edit (addition of the last collection in other words) of the page on the userspace. If not, I'll remove what I have and just leave up the item and location. Ariyen 20:59, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
No, there's no easy way to do that. You might be able to with some convoluted mish-mash of DPL and SMW, but like I said, not easy.
Now if all you want to do is to give some indicator of "Nick has moved but hasn't been found yet," then just include the #ifexpr block from the main-page Nick template. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 21:38, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
That's okay. I'm not too keen on dpl atm. Ariyen 22:55, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
