User talk:Revan The Retarded

From GuildWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

My word we need some new info in GW. I have reviewed most of the info about a dozen times over. Should I feel bad about neglecting some of my characters due to the rather lackluster amount of success within the game? I am quite anxious about the up-coming GW1; I like the campaigns out now, and hate the idea of not being able to transfer all of it.

Edit[edit source]

Dude I find it nice and al that that you fond some wrong spelled things but NEVER Edit a other player's Wiki page without asking! You can say it on his user talk page but do not edit stuff your self! Only when it is aloud can you edit stuff on an Userpage of an other. oke? So plz don't do it again. Just say it on my User talk page, -- The Falling One Sig.jpg † The Falling One© 12:36, 24 September 2008 (UTC) misspelled "all" (al), "found" (fond), and "ok" (oke)...Revan The Retarded 12:12, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Userpage editing[edit source]

Please check the "This is a minor edit" box while editing your userpage. It is a kindness for those of us who patrol Recent Changes, since we can then hide your edits from the list. You can also go to your Preferences and have all edits be marked minor by default; many people do this.

Thanks. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 09:23, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, sir...
It's not a matter of getting ordered, it's a matter of how much you want to stick out from the crowd. You do, by not using the "Preview" button to check your changes (thus plastering yourself all over Special:RecentChanges with 43 changes to a single page on a single day) and by not signing your comments on this discussion talkpage (there are instructions on the edit window, and a handy button). Of course, if "Retarded" isn't just an ironic name, but an image you wish to project about yourself, carry on. ;-) --◄mendel► 10:07, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Since Entropy addressed the editing, I have put forth an effort to do as he has said. As far as the signatures went, I assumed that they were more-or-less a choice, but since you all enforce it so, then I shall do so. I am still relatively new to this wikitalk thing so if my sig still does not show up, just give me a little time. And no I am not trying to create a retarded image, I merely was trying to bring some light to other peoples' days with my whacky name, that is all. Revan The Retarded 11:48, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

She. Also, even though we have a signature policy, choosing not to sign your posts is not a bannable offense or anything like that...besides, somebody else will probably use the unsigned template and add you in anyway, if it bothers them. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 18:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
"A little time" is no problem - I just thought a few tips would come in handy as well ;-). If you need anything else, just ask - here, if you like. And I apologize for the bad joke. --◄mendel► 23:46, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh no worries my friend, after going through Basic Training, and at my age, one learn's to develop somewhat of a tough skin. I don't mind the tips. Anything else, just let me know. Revan The Retarded 07:42, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, I noticed that on other computers my page is distorted as well. Would you mind taking a screenshot for me so I might try to fix it? Thanks.--Hyprodimus Prime 08:00, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

I would if I could, my friend; however, I am currently on a computer at work. When at home I rarely get on wikia as I am actually playing the GW game itself. I also know extremely little about html or anything like that, sorry...Revan The Retarded
I would tell you how to do it, but your on work and I don't think they would appreciate a random picture of GWiki floating around in your system.--Gigathrash sig G.jpgîğá†ħŕášħ 05:05, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Well go ahead and tell me, and mayhaps I shall do it at home...Revan The Retarded 09:50, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Hit the Print Screen button, this will take a snap shot of your current screen, then just go into a program like paint and Ctrl+V it in, crop, save, and upload.--Gigathrash sig G.jpgîğá†ħŕášħ 23:34, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

I'll try that method, but it has not worked for me lately however. Revan The Retarded 11:14, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

I also need help with this; hitting print screen does not produce a screen capture...any suggestions?
Are you sure its not working? When you hit prnt scrn it'll appear that nothing happened at all, but when you go to paint and hit Ctrl+V it pops up. Powersurge360 08:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
No, I do all that; but at the Paint Chop I hit Control + V and nothing happens. Revan The Retarded

Rapid Fire[edit source]

Do skills that increase attack rates such as Rapid Fire increase the rate at which arrows are fired or there speed? At that, does this increase apply to regular, non-skill, attacks or to all attacks to include equipped skills?

I really need these questions answered, please help. lol...Revan The Retarded 08:37, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Attack intervals, not arrow speed. For something that affects the speed of the arrow, rather than the rate of fire, see Read the Wind or Favorable Winds. Powersurge360 08:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
So would Rapid Fire be effective for a char contantly activating skills? Revan The Retarded 10:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Rapid Fire isn't effective for anyone. :\ Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 11:24, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Kormir[edit source]

So am I the only "follower" of Kormir? She is now classified as a God, you know?

I created a character based Userbox for all the gods. You know just like {{User Melandru2}} ("This character" instead of "This User.") so also for {{User Kormir2}}. Just that you know :P -- The Falling One Sig.jpg † The Falling One© 10:45, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Cool, thanks bro...

My Motto[edit source]

Leben ist flüchtig, so ist Tod; nur der Eid ist ewig.

Life is fleeting, so is death; only the oath is eternal. The short form, of course, would be Semper fi! I don't see, however, why the oath should be any more eternal eternal than life, unless one is trying to promulgate some whatever-ist ideology. Would you care to enlighten me? --◄mendel► 14:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I actually got the quote from a Magic: The Gathering card and really like it. that and, "Forget. Only then shall there be room for hope between the pain and the fear." But I suppose one could apply somewhat of religious/christian connotation to it as they often deal with life after death. Revan The Retarded 04:26, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Remember. Only then shall there be room for hope between the pain and the fear makes just as much sense (if not more) from where I'm coming from. It's just that the sounding deep is more easily accomplished than actually being deep, and I guess these cards are produced on a budget. Or maybe there is a difference between the light and the dark side. --◄mendel► 08:44, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Motivation[edit source]

So my main character, Revan The Retarded, has completed all three compains, and another character has completed EotN. However, I now find it somewhat difficult to motivate myself to want to play Guild Wars. It may have something to do with the fact that once GW2 comes out, that GW1 will be gone coupled with the fact that the previous camoagns are considerably less active since other campaigns and expansions came out; but I think the main thing that is killing my enjoyment of gameplay is a combination of frustrating noobs that either act retarded are post retarded messages with the over-abundance of runners (almost all of which charge) and the lack of players actually trying to play through the game. I have several characters started, but find myself not desiring to actually play them, and have difficulty which, if any, character to play. Any suggestions?

Spend an hour or two playing PUGs in the very same early mission; you're going to see quite a range of players, some of which you're going to want to add to your friends list for playing with. I did that on Blacktide Den. --◄mendel► 09:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Several peaople are going through all the campaigns, all the time. But all the missions are so easy that nobody stops to form a PuG.
So yeah, get in a guild/alliance you like and play with people. It really makes this game fun, for most. I'm here only for the titles, but I don't think you're of the grinder type. Exploring and playing around with all the 10 professions is also quite fun, at least for me.
Btw you don't seem to have explored all rangers possibilities (BHA, BA, Splinter-Barrage/Volley, Packhunter, Thumper, Cripshot, Magebane, Trapper, IA, well you get the picture) or PvP at all.
One last thing you should carry as a bow ranger, always, wether PvE or PvP (but mostly at PvP, if you ever decide to get into it). --Alf's Hitman 09:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok, do you think one ranger alternating between builds is feasible or is it generally acceptable to have multiple characters of one type?
Unless you're making pvp characters, it's a total waste of space to use multiple slots for the same profession. Felix Omni Signature.png 15:41, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Random note, GW1 will still be run when GW2 is out, so you don't have to worry about that. Anyway, I'd agree with Alf's suggestion. I've never been really motivated to play Guild Wars anymore, since I've done everything I consider worth doing...but I log on anyways because I'm in a great alliance. They make me laugh and so I end up enjoying myself anyway. Having friends and such makes Guild Wars worth playing again. (Plus, PUGs for elite missions = bleh) I'd also recommend you try Alliance Battles sometime, it's right between PvE and PvP and can be a lot of fun coming from a PvE background. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 21:59, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I AB a lot more since I started become completed the campaigns. And the guild/alliance I am in now is pretty darn great, very mature. I'll be alright, but thanks for your suggestions...Revan The Retarded 22:38, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

armor rating[edit source]

Do multiple armor-level increasing skills stack? Revan The Retarded 17:38, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Not above 25. But a single skill can exceed that.--Łô√ë Roar.îğá†ħŕášħ is hosting a Card Creation Contest! 18:03, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
The exeption being IAU, which is kinda buggy at that.--TalkpageEl_Nazgir 19:18, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

So let me see if I have this stright, if one skill grants +25%, then there is really no use in having any more armor boosters, right? Revan The Retarded 22:01, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Yes, except...
1) It's 25 not 25%
2) Most give less than that (ArenaNet have an annoying sense of humour and quite often you'll find it's +24) A F K sig 2.jpg A F K When Needed 22:12, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
Did it used to be different? Seems to me like at one point it was much higher.Revan The Retarded 22:15, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
It was limited at some point in the game (used to be unltd.). Terra tank tards were annoying back then, and with the addition of Stoneflesh Aura... *sigh* The armor cap didn't even really stop the terra tanks, lol. --- VipermagiSig.JPG -- (contribs) (talk) 22:48, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Am I correct in saying that this armor cap does not factor in bonuses from other sources such as weapons?Revan The Retarded 03:51, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

It's +25 from skills. All equipment-based mods are just added to the armor of whatever spot the attack decided to hit as a base mod rather than a skill one --Gimmethegepgun 03:53, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
Revan specifically mentioned armor bonuses from weapons, though, and I believe they are applied to "overall" armor. Or is that what you said and I just misunderstood it? —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 04:32, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
Ok, clearer way of putting it: nothing from equipment is considered in the 25 cap --Gimmethegepgun 05:48, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

Armor Rating 2: Defense v. Offense[edit source]

Do you believe that there is such a thing as having too much deffence?Revan The Retarded 23:11, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

Only if it starts subtracting from your offense.--Łô√ë Roar.îğá†ħŕášħ is hosting a Card Creation Contest! 03:58, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
Ok, what would you describe as "subtracting from your offense?" My war has 4 defense and 4 offense. I could very well have a war with all offense but it would most certainly die a lot more than the one with the skill set I currently use. Revan The Retarded 23:11, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
It depends all on skills. Some defensive skills are strong enough to justify themselves being alone on a bar of offense and utility, same is true for some offensive skills. Also depends on your build, where you are going, what you are doing, and what you will be facing. Sometimes subtracting from your offense for defense is a good thing.--Łô√ë Roar.îğá†ħŕášħ is hosting a Card Creation Contest! 23:33, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
Middle ground: whatever maximizes lethality with respect to survival time for maximized killing. I suggest a 45 degree angle (pi/4 radians if you must). If you don't get it, well, go take a high school math course. Or fuck you. Whatever --Gimmethegepgun 10:07, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Elementalists...[edit source]

What is the highest amount of damage that a single elementalist attack can do? This is with any and all buffers applied.

It's possible to deal well over 1337 damage. You could calculate the exact amount, but you won't find targets with -40 AL in the game, so it's somewhat moot. I do know that Inferno is the highest single number skill in the Ele's arsenal. --- VipermagiSig.JPG -- (contribs) (talk) 15:54, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
