Fancy meeting you here.... 16:28, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Wikia staff noticeboard[edit source]

Hi, I've created the GuildWiki:Wikia staff noticeboard so random uninitiated users can easily know where to go to report gold ads or technical problems (links are on the sidebar). Please keep the article on your watchlist, thank you. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 02:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks![edit source]

For keeping up with site outage announcements. I appreciate the extra effort to keep us informed.  —Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:59, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

Glad they help :) we are working on a lot of server changes right now, so there are a few more to come... but hopefully things will calm again soon -- sannse (help forum | blog) 01:40, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Poor Sannse[edit source]

You have to be the ground voice and take the flak for whatever everyone that isn't you decides. You need a better job 'mate.--Łô√ë Roar.îğá†ħŕášħ is hosting a Card Creation Contest! 07:23, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Sub-pages of Main Page[edit source]

Currently, the new Wikia skin treats Main Page differently than normal pages, in terms of layout. Our wiki utilizes an open Main Page/editcopy (and potentially /editcopy2, /editcopy3 etc) to allow any random contributor to suggest changes to the Main Page in a way such that the proposal can be rendered as more-or-less proper previews of the Main Page itself. Having a different page layout on the subpages makes designing such proposals difficult for non-admins when it involves layout of actual elements in the content area. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 00:23, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Would it be possible for the Wikia skin to render sub-pages of the Main Page in the same way it renders Main Page? Alternately, would it be permissible for us to be granted special permission to use Javascript to alter sub-pages of the Main Page (and only subpages of the Main Page, nothing else) so the DOM on those sub-pages is structured the same as the Main Page? -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 00:23, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

I suggest awaiting the fork and then redesiging the page using the mainpage column tags, to align ourselves better with the rest of Wikia. As far as I know, using these tags on any page adjusts the layout accordingly. --◄mendel► 00:55, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
If usage of main page column tags would achieve the result, I'm fine with that alternative as well. Currently it appears to not accomplish what I wanted. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 00:22, November 8, 2010 (UTC)
You are right, I was mistaken. I guess we'll have to change the editcopy system. --◄mendel► 01:34, November 8, 2010 (UTC)
I would advocate that whatever system we use, anon users should be able to propose new layout/arrangements for the main page that the anon themselves can easily preview and tweak. It may be that the editcopy system remains, and render the same way as the main page (per my original request in this thread), or it may be some different system. We shouldn't assume the editcopy system itself has to be changed. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 02:25, November 8, 2010 (UTC)
If it's possible for you to use Javascript to do this, then that seems a good solution (and a quicker one than getting changes made our end). So go ahead, it seems a sensible exception -- Sannse (help forum | blog) 20:12, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for permitting exception for this specialized situation! (-: -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa.png) 20:36, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

Happy Thanksgiving[edit source]

I want you to know that I appreciate your backing off the Forum:Moving forward issues for the time being. You have my word that we will remove the upload and move page restrictions as soon as it's feasible for us to do so. Felix Omni Signature.png 20:20, November 25, 2010 (UTC)
