Item Spells Quick Reference[]

I noticed that Destructive Was Glaive is not in the item spell skills quick reference page - is that an oversight, or deliberate? anyway, just thought i should tell you. Bubbinska 19:58, 20 January 2007 (CST)

Ok thanks for that, technically its not an item spell, i just have no idea what to do with that skill now. -- Xeon 22:35, 20 January 2007 (CST)
I'm pretty sure it is or should be an item spell - you used to be able to give it to allies but they corrected that. Either way i'm a bit bummed that they haven't fixed the animation and stuff. Bubbinska 22:45, 20 January 2007 (CST)
I will add it to the list and put a note in talk about it. -- Xeon 22:48, 20 January 2007 (CST)

That BM page...[]

I edited that part out since I don't know if that section on the mathematics behind it still exists (I couldn't find it at those links). If you can find a way to reword that paragraph to remove those references, feel free to do so. — User:Kyrasantae kyrasantae 02:11, 15 October 2006 (CDT)

I edited this so that it reflects what the attribute description from what guild wars says.

Article naming[]

Don't put "(Alliance Battle)" in a name just because it's for something in ABs. Only use parentheses to distinguish a page from another that could also have the same base name. --Fyren 02:12, 15 October 2006 (CDT)

Was not aware of it, now i am, thanks.

finished the alliance page fixes[]

I'v done what i can to edit the alliance map pages, have fun fixing the little mistakes.

Change your name...[]

Seriously dude, some other guy is probably talking all the credit for your work. :) --Karlos 08:23, 15 October 2006 (CDT)

Actually I was thinking that Auron sounds a lot like Xeon! :P --Xasxas256 08:26, 15 October 2006 (CDT)
Not about sound, it's about looks. When quickly scanning the Recent Changes list, every edit they both make looks like it's from Xeeron. :) --Karlos 08:37, 15 October 2006 (CDT)
Well I suppose Karl looks a lot like Karlos...lucky Xasxas256 looks more like a randomly generated password than a name! --Xasxas256 08:49, 15 October 2006 (CDT)
Im not here for a popularity contest, im here to edit pages so that it can benefit other guild wars players. if people cant work out that im a different user then let it be so. If someone wants to take credit for the work i do, shame on them, if they do im sure they will also get caught out. I will continue to edit pages under this name. :) Xeon 08:51, 15 October 2006 (CDT)

C3 skills[]

Please go back through the ones you changed again and restub the non-elites which don't have a normal skill trainer and fix the description, stats, and progressions for all of them. You de-C3'd many but I see people making edits after you that change the skill templates, so you either didn't check that everything is correct or were sloppy. --Fyren 12:58, 5 December 2006 (CST)

Checked all the skills with a priest of Balthazar next to me, the only ones i didnt -c3 were the quests and areas which ill be going around to see today. The only other thing i didnt check was the progression chart to see if it lined up (i used the values that i had set, which were all random like 3, 7, 9) but i was also planning on double checking that today. Xeon 20:33, 5 December 2006 (CST)
I just had a look at all the skill templates changed after me, they were either all me or nothing to do with ones i changed. Im 58.107 btw, i dont know why it wasn't logged in then. Xeon 20:55, 5 December 2006 (CST)
Did one better then stubbing the articles, added the skill triainers. Xeon 22:35, 5 December 2006 (CST)
Did you only do it for skills you hadn't already unlocked? --Fyren 03:04, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Skill trainers (Nightfall), no point doing what someone else has done. Ones i dont know, have section stubs. Xeon 03:42, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Interesting, i finally got someone else to look at the skill pages. Only takes 200+ changes in a couple of days to notice there was a problem with them. :D Xeon 04:24, 6 December 2006 (CST)
I went through every non-dervish and paragon C3'd skill a few days ago and every stubbed skill around the time of the last preview. You got to these before I did. --Fyren 04:26, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Anyway its all done now, time to move onto the next project. Removing the rest of the c3's off the rest of the articles. Xeon 04:33, 6 December 2006 (CST)

Skills That Remove Enchantments That Prevent Spell Targeting[]

Hey there, you may not have realized this, but I put together a list of all of the skills that can remove the Elite Enchantments Vow of Silence, Spell Breaker, Obsidian Flesh, Spell Shield and Shadow Form, and added the list to the "Related Skills" section of every single one of those skills's pages. I wish you would have realized the relation before deleting every single one of the lists, because now I have to go back and revert and fix all those edits. I'd appriciate if you'd spend a little more time on the pages before you delete the "Related Skills" sections from them completely, and think a little more about the correlations between skills. Thanks! Duncan Dragoon 22:55, 9 December 2006 (CST)

Can i suggest you change that, when further releases of GW come out, that list may get very long. I did look over the list to attempt to simplify the list on many of the pages, while i was brutal on a number of them, this is a wiki and if the community thinks other wise they will change it back. Anyway, can i suggest you put these some way into the quick reference enchantment removal page. Also can you be careful when you revert pages, you riped up a lot of the formating on some of the pages, because i did change the formats on a few. Xeon 05:28, 10 December 2006 (CST)
I'm re-removing the list. Related skills lists should be NOWHERE near that long. If you want to make a new QR page, go ahead, but don't list 18 related. --Fyren 06:42, 10 December 2006 (CST)
Cut them down from 1 to 6 each, though I think 6 is still on the too-long side. --Fyren 07:30, 10 December 2006 (CST)

I'd like to make a page like the enchantment removal quick reference page that lists them, but I'm not in the know how about how to do that, could you two help? I do agree that is seems too long, but it's valuable information to know what removes Spell Breaker and the like. Duncan Dragoon 21:14, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Fyren will be able to help you with that, he will also know the correct way to display the template and what should be listed in it. Xeon 21:18, 10 December 2006 (CST)
It might be easier to just use the same template with an intro paragraph at the top explaining which skills prevent spells and that all of the items are either non-spells or don't directly target the foe. If you really want, I can make a template specific to it given what you want it to be like. --Fyren 08:27, 11 December 2006 (CST)

You Will Die![]

Ahem :p

The edit here [1] isn't vandalism, sorting like that puts the skill in the categories under Y instead of apostrophe :) — Skuld 21:43, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Sorry my bad. Just looked weird and coming from a anon. Xeon 21:44, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Required trainers[]

Wouldn't it be better to make a list? :] Someone without that prof unlocked could check easily then — Skuld 09:21, 11 December 2006 (CST)

What method of listing do you want me to use and i will start changing it from now on. The warrior skills and up to choking gas have been done so far and will be easy to put into the list. Xeon 09:24, 11 December 2006 (CST)
I apologize for the spam in the recent changes over the last few hours but it was the only way to do this. Category:Need Factions Skill Trainer and Category:Need Nightfall Skill Trainer will now list the skills that need updating. only 8 more classes to do now. Xeon 10:23, 11 December 2006 (CST)

Hey there[]

I've seen you around the edits in my emails, so I decided to drop by to say hi. So, hi! Happy editing! --Armond Warblade Warrior(talk) 01:25, 12 December 2006 (CST)

Heh, hi, you on gw atm? Xeon 01:27, 12 December 2006 (CST)

Gah, typing skills being nerfed by tiredness >.< Might be on gw tomorrow, though! Skill Templates[]

I've noticed you've edited a few skill templates. But Template:Skill box has no variables called: disabletype, disabledur or disablenotes. Your new variables there will not appear on the skill page. You've added a link to Disable skills quick reference anyway so I'm going to revert your edits. --Xasxas256 04:36, 12 December 2006 (CST)

Dude dont revert that, they are used by the disable QR Xeon 04:37, 12 December 2006 (CST)
These values are not ment to displayed on the skill box template page, they are used through the disable skill box template. Xeon 04:40, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Hmmm ok, seems a bit kludgy to me, unrecognised variables are fed into Template:Skill box with this method. Wouldn't it be better to add a new section instead of tacking them into Skill Box? --Xasxas256 04:43, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Ah ok, i see where you are going with this, you should bring this up with Fyren as he started this with Hex removal quick reference and i just followed along. For now we can leave it as it is, it doesn't seem to have any significant impacts yet. Xeon 04:56, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Oh and keep me informed on this, i want to do a few other QR later on, when this issue is solved. Xeon 04:58, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Well if Fyren says it's cool...I'm not going to argue with him on template useage. PanSola used to be the template guru but I haven't seen Pan on much anymore. Well I've left a note for Fyren on his talk page, well see what he says I guess. --Xasxas256 05:03, 12 December 2006 (CST)
ok :) Xeon 05:05, 12 December 2006 (CST)
That's how the skill templates work. Any time you do foo the skill box foo template gets everything you put into the skill's template. --Fyren 07:56, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Can you clarify that a bit more, we are allowed to stick things in there without restriction? Xeon 08:23, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Yes, just don't do something stupid. --Fyren 08:24, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Well thats logical :P can you look at something unrelated quickly. Talk:Index_of_skill_lists#General/Special skills proposal, because its a popular page, i would like someone to check through it first. Xeon 08:26, 12 December 2006 (CST)

You know you're wrecking up the place don't you!? :P If you're going to move them out soon I guess that's ok, just don't forget all those pages in your user namespace are categorised ;) --Xasxas256 05:12, 12 December 2006 (CST)

I want to add categories for Bounty[]

How do I add more locations to that page? I really want to help as much as possible. AlpHaz 12 December 2006

Add the following code to the bottom: <-- Note that I'm not sure if that's the name of the category. Double check what the category's called and then have fun. --Armond Warblade Warrior(talk) 20:31, 12 December 2006 (CST)
Go to Bounty page, you will see a list of all bounties in the game. To add a bounty to an area put at the bottom, replace the Mandragor Hunt section with the name of the bounty you wish to add. For example, you would then have for giant beast monsters this . Make sure there is a person to give you a bounty in this area before you add it. The bounty page also needs to be fixed up, demon hunt was originally margonite hunt, when i screwed up the name of it, the category page needs to be changed to reflect this and the interface still looks shockingly crap, I was having a look at the Miniature page, at the gallery at the bottom. I was thinking about making something like that before i saw the gallery, so now its just a matter of copy pasting and formating the tables again. Xeon 00:32, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Not really. It's just how I wrote all the templates, heh. --Fyren 09:22, 16 December 2006 (CST)

I actually feel a bit sorry for them in some ways, they really shouldn't have lost the second test after declaring for 550 odd runs and they only played badly in the final session of the third day in the last test. I would have liked the series to have still been alive heading into the Boxing Day test. Still Warney racking up 700 wickets isn't a bad concelation I guess :) There's also been remarkably little winging from the Poms themselves although playing Ashley Giles first two tests, I don't know how you can justify that... --Xasxas256 09:14, 23 December 2006 (CST)
Next year, England will have the upper hand by having to deal with fresh meat from Australia, lost 2 already maybe more later on. I congrats Gilchrist on his rampage though, i was watching when he got the 3 6's, 1 4 in one over, hopefully he will be around for next year :) so he can do it again. RE: Natural Stride edit.[]

The recommendation that was removed from Natural Stride's page suggested getting an anti-Spell Enchantment before activating Natural Stride. This prevents opponents from adding any new Hexes and allows someone to have faster running speed and 50% chance to block without being able to be easily removed.

It also correctly referred to Natural Stride as a skill (Stance). Why was this removed? GrammarNazi

Wording was wrong, ill see if i can fix it up. The section about enchantments already on the person is implied in the description so that section can be removed the rest is ok. Not sure why i removed the second part. -- Xeon 10:26, 14 January 2007 (CST)

not idea, see what other qr's we need, i guess. -- Xeon 01:06, 22 January 2007 (CST)
Those last three look useful. I'm thinking Spammable enchantments quick reference for dervs (trying to teach my derv's tahlkora to dump a load of enchantments on me at once so I can spam attack skills and such), though. Let's see... There's already a list of skills that cause conditions (bleeding/poison and dazed being the most useful methinks) on the page for that condition, is it worth making a qr? And what about a "target ally causes damage" thing (riposte, shield of judgment, etc)? Useful for invincimonk builds. --Armond Warblade Warrior(talk) 19:56, 23 January 2007 (CST)
The current aim for the qr i think, is to change all of the current ones that are embedded into other pages into this format and placed in one category. Invinci monks dont just use SoJ, they can use IW and Spoil Victor but a qr based around, reaction if hit may be viable. The spammable one i would not put in at all, mainly because you have a lot of non spam ones that work just as well on dervish and it would not be maintained by anyone in the future. The qr's being developed atm are ones based around a type of effect, like energy recovery, attack speed, skills that add armor. These type of skills dont have fine lines of when to be added or not, as will spammable skills, you would have the problem of deciding what guide lines should be used. I think because of that, a spammable qr is not viable and should be put into a guide if anything, sorry if any of this is wrong, wrote it quick, im getting offline and going to work. -- Xeon 20:20, 23 January 2007 (CST)

Knockdown duration[]

After noticing your editing to complete Knockdown skills quick reference, I cannot help but notice that almost all the knockdown durations you have listed are 1 second, with one major anomaly, Forceful Blow knocking down the target for 4 seconds rather than yourself when evaded. Talk:Knockdown has myself and Ubermancer confirming that unless otherwise stated, knockdowns are two seconds in length. Can you prove otherwise? -- 08:25, 28 January 2007 (CST)

lol I could see it now - 'Koss why do you suck so much?' , 'well if you quit giving me mending, frenzy and heal sig...' --Dazra 18:23, 2 February 2007 (CST)
Mending? On a Hero Warrior?!? Blasphemy!! Koss would never allow such a thing! Olias never complains but Koss sure will, just take away his sword sometime. LOL! I think Koss is too keen on keeping his monk skills limited to Smite Hex or Dismiss Condition. Queen Schmuck 18:29, 2 February 2007 (CST)
I dont know what came on the skill bar when you got koss but this is what mine had.
-- Xeon 01:23, 3 February 2007 (CST)
LOL!!!! Oops, he made a big wannabe pro mistake. He brought Dolyak Signet intead what should be there, heal sig. (BTW, I think your Koss's elite armor has gone to his head)
Now Goren, on the other hand, well, he spent TOO much time with that Mesmer! Look at what he had on his skill bar when I got him! (and note how he isn't sure WHICH skill to use) Queen Schmuck 01:46, 3 February 2007 (CST)
Nah did that on purpose, heal sig isnt really a bad skill, there is nothing like a 75% slower wammo with no strength at all because all the points are sapped by healing prayers. -- Xeon 01:49, 3 February 2007 (CST)
Ah, I see your point. In that case, might as well have skill #1 be Power Attack and skill #2 be Ethereal Light. Oh, and make sure to have a heal req 12 off-hand with +15/-1 or -33% dazed core. No need wasting precious points into tactics for a puny shield that gives no extra energy. =:P Queen Schmuck 01:59, 3 February 2007 (CST)
Choice of my wammo skill bar is because. #1 Tried using gash without bleeding? #2 Final Thrust sucks when you cant get their health below 50%, #3 Frenzy... self explanatory, #4 Dolyak Signet slows you by 75% and pretty much no armor bonus with 0 strength, #5 Healing Breeze + warr...., #6 Mending what this build is built around, #7 Healing Hands cant do without it on a wammo, #8 Rebirth works best in Alliance Battles. ;D ~(If this conversation on the best wammo is going to continue, please do so on my talk page, so we dont pollute this talk page with unrelated messages) -- Xeon 02:30, 3 February 2007 (CST)

ROFLMAO! My sides are hurting and tears are rolling down! I must admit, you really put some thought into this build. The AB rebirth just takes the cake, and didn't even notice the Gash (just assumed it was Sever). Now, for really making your build best, and since Frenzy will be used all the time (why put it on bar if you're not going to use it every chance you get!), maybe Barb Slice will work even better. Doh!, that actually will do extra damage.

I guess I kneel before you, oh great master of Wammos. My humble attempts at Pro Wammo builds will never come close to your mastery. May Balthazar smile upon you (without breaking out in laughter).

BTW, the "Goren" wammo pick was taken on some solo Ettin run of mine (needed the runes for heroes!). The skills used are actually quite fast at taking out the Ettins quickly. Alternative for SaM would of course be Final Blow, but I like the nearly always dual crits of SaM while they are using their Heal Sig. I also like the constant full adren (from AP) allowing Bonetti's at anytime I wish (especially right before taking on the Tengu, any of them). The "all skills currently trying to be used at same time" effect was because of a Lag Monster I failed to slay that run.

Queen Schmuck 02:56, 3 February 2007 (CST)

I would like to see someone beat that or at least improve on my build, to compile the best wammo build ever. I was looking at that goren bar of yours and thought it looked ok for farming, heh, when auspicious parry was 0sec recharge it blew melee bosses away. anyway I Dare someone to created a better wammo, only requirement is it needs to be a W/Mo. -- Xeon 03:06, 3 February 2007 (CST)
I would normally run Liv Vic (not WS), but I had a tendancy to go Skeleton farming (lots of runes there too). WS was to help counter the poison.
I had always wished AP would recharge itself if a block quickly happens after use. I guess I never used Ausp before the nerf, it always had a two second delay before it would charge itself on block (just checked, that nerf was early 2006-06, over two months before I even owned GW). Bummer, it must have been absolutely da bomb back then.
Dropping Vig Spirit just before any encounter with a Tengu Wild helped against their Shatter (HH recharge unusable). This build was somewhat weak if facing 2 Wilds at same time (bad aggro), unless you were really quick on the VS reload. Energy was never a problem for me, 20 was more than enough (disturb a lynx or two if needed for Bonetti's energy top off). See User:Queen Schmuck/W/Mo Rune Collector.
I might take you up on your Wammo challenge. Question - do all skills have to be for same warrior's weapon type? :P Queen Schmuck 03:38, 3 February 2007 (CST)
Yes, it has to be logically correct but a dumb combination (or smart if you can make the "best" wammo) I was just thinking about the Echo mending and only just realized that you cant use Warr + Echo + Mending *cries*. I'm not native english speaker but you might want to change this sentence in your user page: Played pretty much since the beginning of release. I play to enjoy Guild Wars. Release is an event that has no duration, and thus saying "beginning of release" is redundant, makes no sense. "since the release" would look much better and still say what you apparently wanted to state. --Spura 08:17, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Number of references[]

Is there any rule for adding references to skill templates? An EffectOnEnd quick reference would require at least 3 or 4. Some skills already have 6 or 7 of those references. --Nemren 10:44, 23 March 2007 (CDT)

Try to keep it as small as possible. Do it how you think it should be done, other people will come in and fix it if there is something wrong or if it could be done better. -- Xeon 10:47, 23 March 2007 (CDT)

Creating Templates[]

I am relatively new to the site but am a professional programmer/designer with 12 years experience. I do this stuff as a hobby as well as for a living so it was only a matter of time before I started to want to work on projects here. I have been working on creating a set of templates for Capped Elite Skills very similar to the Mission Progress Template. Any help/advise you can give would be very much appreciated (I hate duplicating others work when I could be building on it instead.) The Turtle King : There is no Honor without Faith, Compassion and Loyalty 12:26, 14 April 2007 (CDT)

For starters your going to have to expand on your description for the template idea, how would it function? what would be used to trigger its gray and colored state? how will people know what the gray and colored states mean? Will you let people select only necro skills? There are a limited number of missions compared to skills, using the same 0,1,2 trigger template system for the elite listing may get hard to read when trying to find the one skill you want to change. -- Xeon 12:35, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
Btw, can i suggest you change your tag to <font color="green">The Turtle King</font> it is currently causing color bleeding, also the tag you have attached, it seems a bit long, sigs are really just ment as an indication of who you are. -- Xeon 12:40, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
Ok i see what your working on, it looks ok, the way you are doing it but im to tired atm to have a good look, as its 3am, so ill have a better look tomorrow. -- Xeon 12:51, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
I thought that was kinda strange that you made your entire text green on the last response. sig is taken care of and and thanks for all the suggestions, Ill send you a msg when I am done with the template prototypes, let me know what you think. The Turtle King 13:00, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
Ok so here are the links to the test pages that will show you the usages of the templates and give you links to look at them. Raw Dump, Formated Display. Would love to get your input on them before I submit them to the Template name space. The Turtle King 01:02, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

No problem, it was my fault for not doing it right the first time, so i thought i would fix them all up. -- Xeon 02:09, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
Re:Optional fields. I saw that, but I decided to use the option to add the extra information anyway eg uploader's comments and so on, as one can't overdocument, and also it may encourage others to include more information. The extra details are as much for others outside of the GuildWiki community as for those within. It is a nice touch to keep it all within the license box 12:48, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
Heh, you had the <optional:blah> which is what i was commenting on, those dont need to be seen and the author defaults to image uploader for a reason, when the picture gets changed, it will have a new author normally the person that uploaded, its used only when you want to over write the it because you know the author is not the uploader. -- Xeon 12:53, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
I see what you mean - I wasn't looking at the licenses after applying them, so didn't see that. Templates are not my field of expertise :) I will check the others and correct. 12:55, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
Yeah, i still have not written up the documentation, im hoping to do that later tonight or tomorrow. I still need to wait for the reply from anet to see what license we can apply to the screenshots, so nothing much happens till this. That and we need someone that knows law to fix up the license notes. -- Xeon 13:02, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

Do you not think it would be more sensible to apply the unattributed template to these images simply to categorize them into one easily-accessed area for later licensing purposes? The template could be changed to state that they are in a "holding" status, not a deletion queue, and then as time permits helpful souls will be able to dip into that category and a=apply attribution or contact the uploader. It just seems to me that this would be a more efficient case of time and motion than going through the entire directory of files later. 13:44, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

At the moment no, because there may be an automatic way to do it, so adding templates and the such is not an option just for the moment. Whats worse is, the templates have not been finalized so what is there may be different to what is going to be used officially, which means a lot of uneeded doubling of work. -- Xeon 13:49, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

Moved discussion from User talk:[]

What does this fall under, user-created image? It's just a shot of the wiki Image:Black radiant ie.JPG. — Skuld 13:43, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

It's an interesting point, but yes, I agree it should be simply user created image, with no reference to the license necessary. 13:48, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
Another example of why we need someone that knows the copyright issues like the back of their hand. heh -- Xeon 13:55, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
Surmounting that obstacle is the challenge unfortunately faced by the vast majority of websites who do not have access to the terrifying sums of money that copyright lawyers demand for their services. Acquiring a tame specialist prepared to work pro bono is indeed a rarity. Also, as you can see, copyright law is complex and occasionally ambiguous; even were a specialist willing to undertake voluntarily to act for eg GuildWiki, they would invariably state from the outset that their guidance did not constitute legal advice, should not be regarded as legal advice and would accept no responsibility for any subsequent actions. Which makes it fairly worthless after the fact. GuildWiki is probably best advised to err on the side of caution with any ambiguous issues, and operate under the blanket of good faith. By demonstrating a willingness to correctly label the works of others and deal with blatant violations, how can anybody argue that they are operating otherwise? It is very unlikely that any interested party would do more than ask that an individual instance of a copyright violation be removed immediately. Overall, instilling a work-ethic whereby all contributors add a copyright template, to their best of their understanding, is as much as anyone would expect. If you consider the skill, creative effort, time and money invested in producing material, which may then be wasted if it is open to other parties to use or exploit without paying the creator, it isn't really too much to ask. 15:09, 5 May 2007 (CDT)
We dont need a lawyer, we need someone that knows the copyright licenses, i do not have the time to do it. Issues with images can be brought up on its talk page and is referenced to at the bottom of each copyright notice. if there are any questions i missed, feel free to point them out. -- Xeon 15:22, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

Images yet again.[]

Since you didn't bother to reply on my talk page I decided to come here and point out a few things:

1) "Please review GuildWiki:Image use policy and add a copyright tag to their image description page." - The Image use policy doesn't say anything, about "Image copyright tags". Linking people there server so purpose, since images without any tags are currently 100% allowed by the policies.

2) You are linking to Wikipedia. We are not Wikipedia. Linking the definition of copyright is OK, but linking to any policies is bad.

3) Not only that, but the tone of that message looks like you should add the tags that are listed on the Wikipedia page, whereas we don't have them. We have very different ones.

4) Finally, the link to everything with "Image:" is bad, since not only can it be very confusing what image did you have in mind if the person uploaded a lot of them, but that link also contains images in which you edited the text, not the image itself making the list even longer. Just list the images. It will make it easier for everyone.

Poki#3 My Talk Page :o, 18:08, 13 May 2007 (CDT)

I fixed all of those except for the first one and last one, im not writing it as policy till anet reply about the status of their "screenshots" including ripped images. What i did recently, was a test run of a 500 image sample to see what problems would come out of the system. Which is when i discovered the problem with 2) and 3) and fixed that issue, as well as a few other problems, including people uploading images again to put copyright tags and other minor issues. I leave all my updated comments about this project at GuildWiki talk:Image attribution project.
About the 4th point, there will be over 22000 images to go through by people, linking to each image is just not an option, as with the case with lordbiro, he has uploaded over 300 or so images, this would destroy his talk page and would serve no advantage compared to the listing of all Image: files for that person. Remember that these files have to be individually check by an administrator before they they will be deleted. If an uploader does not pick up on the unattributed image or error the admin will and take the required steps to extend the unattributed tag a further 7 days and warn the uploader. I also did a time comparison, to manually do all these files. Around 500 images took 1 hours 20 minutes, with over 22000 images, that comes to about 60 hours in total spent on adding the tags. Adding each image to a talk page increases that by a further 10 seconds for each image, which will double the required time.
im sorry about not replying on your talk page as i might have been asleep when it went past my recent changes and it was not brought to my attention afterwards. If i did not answer your questions or you have further questions please post them here or at the project page. -- Xeon 00:12, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

quick reference legends[]

i disagree with your assessment of the usefulness of those legends. ignoring the fact that, in most cases, they are the same icons used in game, there is still the tooltips revealed by hovering over the icons, and the fact that clicking the icon links to an article explaining the concept. i'm not terribly committed to their removal, but you must admit the information provided by the legend is already presented in many other ways. --Honorable Sarah Honorable Icon.gif 22:41, 20 May 2007 (CDT)

I was aware of why you took them out but new people will not know what they mean, this includes people that have not purchased the game yet and are just browsing the skills, i think it should be left in as an aid. On that note legends are not required on specific QR's like animate minion quick reference because people that will be looking through them will know the symbols and are looking for certain associations. -- Xeon 23:16, 20 May 2007 (CDT)

Does "doing awesome stuff" necessarily mean the user is fit for administrative responsibilities? (No offense Xeon, I barely know you, just pointing out a flaw with Sigma's point). — Skuld 05:20, 30 June 2007 (CDT)

Since I have to add them for my Signature Image would you be kind enough to tell me how I do that? Do I just add it in there under the edit pannel? Userthirdsig2.JPG (T/C) 11:46, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

The Skills You've changed just recently so it says you can get the skill in beknur harboor is not necessary i think. Falafel 12:03, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

As part of the s&f im adding the skills that are on istan, when my brother finally gets my second account off the island i will check all the other skills. see GuildWiki:Style and formatting/Skills. -- Xeon 12:08, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

Ok. so it is necessary. ^^ Falafel 12:10, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

That is still to be challenged though, all the skills that Tohn have in Kamadan are everywhere else on the island that i have seen so far. -- Xeon 12:13, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

that's what i ment wiht beeing necessary. Falafel 13:04, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

If you added a trainer on a skill page, don't forget to adjust that trainer's skills offered page accordingly. --Erszebet 03:34, 5 July 2007 (CDT)

Check event time Template[]

The time calculation seems to be off by about 1/2 hour. I did some testing using the preview on the Dragon Event 2007 schedule table and at 4:15 PDT I got the cell to change to red by shifting the time back 30 minutes. Any further back and they went gray. Either that or the time on the Wiki server is off.-- Glamtre Axe-icon-right.png (Contribs) 18:34, 6 July 2007 (CDT)

I fixed this, something was changed server side after i made the script, it works now. To update the row, you need to purge the article which a link can be found in the talk page. -- Xeon 08:31, 7 July 2007 (CDT)

My sig[]

Has the page been fixed to wiki's satisfaction? I can't get the template to appear while the redirect is there, but it's in the code. Thought I'd just check, since you haven't responded on my page. GDSig.JPG 02:19, 9 July 2007 (CDT)

Yep its fine, i dont normally go back and check talk pages, sorry about that. Most of the time if they have problems they contact me after. -- Xeon 02:25, 9 July 2007 (CDT)

Hi! I noticed that you have uploaded many skill icons for luxon/kurz skills. I just wondered where did you get the original files from? and if you still have original files, could you please provide a link or something Gcardinal 23:03, 13 July 2007 (CDT)

Welcome to the sysop team. —Tanaric 00:14, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

Thank you, unexpected but appreciated. -- Xeon 00:28, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

So, do what you want with the skill box templates. The test copy with progressions and icons for K/L stuff is still in the sandbox where I left it. Also, there are perl modules that deal specifically with MW. At the very least, if you really want to get page text and parse it yourself with LWP, use action=raw to just get the page's wikitext. --Fyren 02:29, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

I knew about the MW modules, perl isnt one of my stronger languages so i tried to learn a few things while doing these. action=raw will be very useful later. -- Xeon 02:40, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Congrats mate, I'm outta town atm so I don't have much time but wd ;) --Xasxas256 02:52, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Just got back into town and it seem like most of the admin team is too busy squabbling (or pretending not to) over at the other wiki; there's a noticeable lack of thanks here :( Even above Fyren didn't say thanks but then again he's such a pro we'll excuse him! Anyway I'm pretty sure every other admin has filled in GuildWiki_talk:Administrators#Table_of_info so you might like to as well, even if it's a little out of date and probably nobody looks at it, until you've carved your name into there you're not a real admin yet! :P --Xasxas256 08:02, 4 August 2007 (CDT)

hello, oh ok, ill do that later today. Im not changing from what i do normally much, just trying to maintain the article quality here. I noticed a large number of them over at the other wiki, thats their choice, i will prob move over when GW2 comes out because i dont see an alternative being created when the official one will be integrated into the game. It's sad that fyren doesn't hang around anymore, he would always fix my small mistakes, now i have to triple check everything i do :( -- Xeon 08:22, 4 August 2007 (CDT)
Yeah and in true Fyren style he's written that notice on his talk page instead of his user page! I'll have to write something nice for him on his talk page, end of an era really... :( --Xasxas256 10:10, 4 August 2007 (CDT)

Why did you put a fair use policy on my image of the Account Login Pane? I've never seen a FUP any other image before. --Hawk SkeerHawkicon.png 21:04, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Because of this GuildWiki:Image use policy. -- Xeon 23:27, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
Ok thanks --Hawk SkeerHawkicon.png 08:37, 3 August 2007 (CDT)

Future: Mark all core skills as stubs + need eotn trainer[]

Since Eotn is a level-20 expansion and not a standalone chapter, I would be surprised if it will have trainers for core skills. elites, however, will probably have new capping spots. (thanks for deleting my pages). Foo 15:18, 4 August 2007 (CDT)

no problem, yeah i know, i wrote that a while ago but im leaving it there just in case they have some weird system so i dont forget. -- Xeon 15:21, 4 August 2007 (CDT)
Another thing this brings to mind, is that some kind of a warning or a note should be made in pages of eotn bosses with non-core elites, (or skills at all), telling players that even though they can cap it, they can't use it if they don't have the proper chapter. Foo 15:41, 4 August 2007 (CDT)
You don't know that yet, maybe people who have GW:EN and capture skills that are not core or not exclusive to EotN can still use them because they own this expansion. It's good that you think about this but let's just wait and see. --- :Jill Bioskop X(T|C) 17:59, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

Random Question[]

If you're the anon of a talkpage topic with no replies, why can't you remove it? O_O The Imperialist

General talk page rule, nothing is ever removed in the main namespace talk pages, its either archived or you strike it out. For small edits like that, it doesn't matter but for consistency its done to every talk section removal. Things like expanding, spelling and technical figures you got wrong editing in a current section is generally fine though. User talk space do not have this restriction but out of politeness you archive your page instead of blanking. Also comments by people are not normally striked out by another person, by logging in as a user your IP is hidden, so it may be you or not. -- Xeon 00:42, 5 August 2007 (CDT)
Okay ^^ Thanks for clearing that up ;) The Imperialist

I took a look at the elite skill check list you linked me. I must say it was nice but not really what I was looking for. I just don’t think it flows well with the style of userpage I am trying to build.

King Of Yuri 12:22, 7 August 2007 (CDT)

Ok but can you move it to your user space and not keep it in the main namespace. -- Xeon 12:27, 7 August 2007 (CDT)

His main target is Wikia Move/Community poll. How about a short term soft protect? A protect can be done with an expiry date that prevents anon edits, but permits logged on edits. -- 10:43, 15 September 2007 (CDT)
It wasn't the talk page he was hitting, it was the main article on it - look at the history, repeated blanking and reverts. -- 10:48, 15 September 2007 (CDT)
