Vial of Absinthe (formerly just Absinthe) was an item available during the Halloween 2005, Halloween 2006, and Halloween 2007 special events. It was traded by several Halloween collectors in severals cities in Elona and Tyria. In addition, Absinthe was handed out as a random prize for players who obeyed the Mad King when he appeared at Lion's Arch and Kamadan.
It causes a green flame to flare at your feet for a second, then gives a blurry "drunken" effect that compounds with multiple uses within a short period. The screen will also turn more green the more drunk you are. Other than the flame it is comparable to Hunter's Ale or Dwarven Ale.
Halloween collector items, purchased or received from the Mad King, will remain in each character's inventory until they are used or destroyed.
Additional Note
Absinthe is a real beverage available worldwide. The legality of possession in the US is unclear and debatable. Importing "real absinthe" into the US is clearly illegal.
