Description
Watchtower Guards are White Mantle scouts that man the watchtowers along the Riverside Province mission path. When a party approachs a tower (about 1.5 times aggro range) the Watchtower Guard will alert nearby White Mantle Patrols and they will rush to the tower.
Killing the Watchtower Guards (nine of them) is the bonus objective of the Riverside Province mission. Note that non-ranged skills can be used on the watchtower guards by targeting them while standing at the base of the tower, your character will perform the skill on the tower door and damage the guards. This is because the Guild Wars engine ignores height in some cases when calculating attacks. Actually, using ranged attacks successfully may turn out to be harder, since it is usually hard to acquire a clear line-of-sight to the enemies on the towers. The best way to tackle the tower guards could be using ranged, area-of-effect spells that deal damage over time, as the guards will not have much room to escape.
